LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.
One year ago under Biden gas was $3.03. Thats a whopping $0.08 move in price due to trumps policies.
Now do the price of electricity.
Both sides, right
@baltimorened ?
well, the topic of this was gas prices, so that's what I posted about.
But you brought up electric prices, so I do that next.....I'll be honest, I don't pay any attention to the costs for thermal units or whatever units electricity is measured in, I only look at the bottom line and then pay the bill. And I have 2 places and spend about 4-5 months in one and the rest of the time in the other. The former is in NOVA and the other is in Florida. I have both on an annual budget plan, so I pay the same amount each month. Both places have electric everything except gas ovens in both. So, at both places electric prices have gone higher over the past 5-6 years, but not higher than the rate of inflation (I think). To be fair, I think not being in either place helps my costs because when I'm in NOVA, for example, I have all the appliances in FL disconnected and keep the a/c at 82 degrees heat at 60. ..same thing when I'm in Fl. When I'm in Fl, I have all the appliances in NOVA disconnected and the heat at 60 and a/c at 82. I'm sorry that I can't give you a more definitive, specific answer on costs. But I'm retired and one of my caveats was no matter the cost, my wife and I will not go homeless, hungry, hot or cold. So I pay the bills and really don't pay much attention to the cost. I'm blessed.
But your point is valid, electricity costs have gone up and, IMO, will continue to increase. We've taken some of the low cost electricity producers off line, mainly coal, in favor of some higher price production. And increases in production costs along with increased demand for electricity will make the price at the retail end higher. And I project it's going to continue to go higher. But we've accepted the tradeoff of higher electric prices for cleaner environment/climate.
If I were a wise a-- I would have said that I have solar, so my electricity cost is zero...but I don't. I looked into it, but based on the amount I pay/month, the payback period would be longer than I expect to live.
One really good thing, at least from my perspective, is that I have some of you other posters at least recognizing that there are always 2 sides to every argument. Sometimes comes back to bite me, but at least it leads to more civil discussion.
