Saudi Arabia fired back at Trump.......won't hurt him, just us working class or retired individuals on fixed incomes. Oh, that tax cut is really going to help now!!!!! When gas is $4.00/gallon. Yippie.

What’s driving oil to $200 a barrel?

OPEC, under pressure from Saudi Arabia, over Trump's comments about Saudi Arabia and that journalist.
We are the biggest producers of oil, not saudi arabia. Saudi is mad cause we have been cracking natural gas instead of oil to make the things that oil use to make. You need to catch up.

This reminds me of the Simmons-Tierney. The best was made in 2005. It was about the price of a barrel of oil in 2010. You take the price from a certain market each day at closing each day in 2010. The bet was that the average price of all those 2010 days would be over $200. It turned out that the average price was $80 and the highest price of any single day was $145.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simmons–Tierney_bet

I think by now Saudi Arabia realizes that really high oil prices only further spurs research into energy alternatives. They're trying to convert their economy with their 2030 plan, or whatever it's called, but it's hard when you have a lazy, decadent population with no worth ethic or history of innovation.

But as far as that potential murder goes, that's kinda creepy. I wouldn't put it past Saudi Arabia to do that but OTOH I wouldn't put it past Turkey to do it themselves and to try to frame Saudi Arabia for it. I also wouldn't be surprised if whoever did it did it because don't think they'll suffer consequences with Trump in the White House.

ETA: Correction on a bit on that bet. The highest price of any single day in 2010 wasn't $145, rather that is the highest price of any day, period. The year it occurred was in 2008.

So, you are saying if OPEC raises their prices it will NOT affect American gas prices? [roll]

In order for them to "raise prices" they need to cut their supply. It probably will impact our prices, but Saudi won't like the end result.

So what you and your anti Trump friends are playing is that Trump is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't regarding the journalist's murder..

Perhaps don't tweet out thoughts and actions like our Twitter in Chief does on everything? Certain things are best handled behind closed doors, without tipping your hand.

Hahaha have you been able to tie the tax cuts to this yet? I keep checking back in to see if you’ve explained your logic.

Yes, it's called "logic". I receive X amount from the tax cuts just so that I pay that X amount, and then some more, to the rising costs of things like gas prices, and tariff war.......etc. etc. etc.

Wow. They are basically null and void with his tariff war and now his stupid public (Twitter) comments. Get it? Probably not. Still defending the guy you cannot stand......

What specific products that you're using on a daily basis have you personally seen a large price increase in.

So if there were not tax cuts, then this wouldn’t be happening?

Once the Keystone XL pipeline comes online Saudi will be discounting its crude at below market just to make sales! We don't need them anymore, and they know it, so they're trying to gain more $$$$$$ from a smaller base of customers. Soon, they'll be swimming in that sh*t if they can't sell all of it off!
