Most of the players drafted are not surefire NBA guys. I don't think Garza's a great bet to play in the league, I just think his stock is as high as it's ever going to get. If he can even get taken as the last pick in the draft, he ought to take whatever money is on the table.

All have projectable talent. He’s a nice college player. He should stay where he belongs, because there’s not much left when he’s out of eligibility.

Maybe, but did you think Duncan Robinson would play in the NBA? I sure didn't.

Mikki Moore played in at least one NBA game in 11 different seasons - go figure. You can be the worst player in the entire league, and the checks still clear.

Garza isn't Maric. He has 3-point range. Still doesn't project as a starter, but could carve out a bench role if he can keep hitting at least 35% from deep.

You don’t think his game at least translates to European ball? I would think he could have a big career overseas. The NBA would be tough.

He'd do just fine overseas and is borderline NBA, but one heck of a college player. Not sure why all the hate for the guy. He's a damn good college player and 15 years ago would have probably made good coin in the NBA.

Big Ten basketball is rightly recognized as the best BB conference top to bottom. 8 teams ranked in the AP Top 25. Conference season is a 20 game meat grinder - by far, the toughest competition in America. Garza will likely win B10 POY and that is no small feat.

In bashing Garza's [lack of] athleticism, John J Rambo inadvertently and unintentionally compliments him. ….....because Garza has reached All-American status by hard work and relentless effort. He is not athletically gifted but has reached the top level of college basketball by sheer determination and hard work.

Or playing in Europe for 15 years, making a very nice living, coming back in the off season and running camps (making even more money)

The guy is annoying as ****...but to think he won't have a shot to (at the very least) sit on an NBA bench at 7 foot, with the ability to shoot the floor and play hard...well...I don't know what you are thinking.

The keys are his height, hustle and shooting. If he was 6'8, I would agree that he would have no chance. 6'8 guys are a dime a dozen in the NBA.

Because nobody runs their offense through the block, he plays below the rim on defense and there are a myriad of athletic 6’7”+ guys who can hustle, shoot and also add value playing perimeter defense?

Don’t get me wrong. In 1992, he’d be highly coveted.

Yeah I see Garza as a fringe NBA guy who might stick on a roster if he lands in the right situation. If not, there's likely a contract waiting for him in Europe or Australia or Asia that I would have given my left nut to sign following my junior year in college.

Garza's not Nikola Jokić, not by a long shot. But he's the kind of guy who could give you 8-10 minutes off the bench when Jokić is gassed.

I’d much rather see Husker news unless it’s about an opponent that has news directly pertaining to an upcoming game of hours.

Garza will be drafted and will have a nice career in the NBA. Nobody on the planet can out work him. He has the height and can shoot good enough to play in the league.

That is my point though, he doesn't have to play on the block. On offense he can play 15 feet and out and on defense he can give you fouls and rebounds.

Garza does have a lot of talent- just not a lot of pure athletic ability. In my mind he is a lock for BIG10 POY which means he did that in the best conference in the country. He probably wont win national POY because we are a fringe top 25 team and we don't have DUKE on the front of our jerseys.

As far as NBA- think he could stick if he finds that right team that can use his talents. He does shoot it will and can stretch to the 3 point line which teams will like. Don't see him as a starter but could be a great 15-20 minute a game type backup. He would make a killing in Europe if he has to go that route- either way he will get paid.

I don't hate on the guy. I think he will make it in the NBA. I just think he needs to get to Walmart and buy a grooming set and get rid of those caterpillars.

Oh great.. You picked Kawhi. One person that will play D. Who are you going to provide next? Patrick Beverly? Basically to be a star in the league you need to score and defense is secondary. Your biggest stars are terribly lazy on the D end and are more worried about scoring, but nice try. Yes, all of them are athletes and can play D if need be, but most don't because it isn't as important. Please continue on how the NBA is a defensive league and I don't understand how it works... I'll wait.

I used the wrong word when I said can't. He probably can. Doesn't play D is what I should have said. If you watch NBA and listen to the commentary or watch with your own eyes then you would hear that they all talk about it, and Zion's lack of D. The stars are about getting buckets and playing D occasionally. The playoffs up the D and rebounding a little more, but it is still an offensive game. But good try.
