JQ takes all of Garrison minutesAnd there are people saying JQ wouldn’t make a single bit of a difference. Hilarious.
He did not deserve 18 minutes yesterdayI don’t understand why Pope continues to play Garrison: He’s so inconsistent!
Dude. Mo is 6’8 and doesn’t jump well. He would get destroyed at the 5. Jelly is your only hope if you sit BG.BG is the team's weakest link.
I think you give the backup center minutes to MoD; addition by subtraction.
Excel spreadsheet incoming of how top 10 freshman suck and don't help you win. Ignore Duke since 2021. That doesn't count. He's a MCDAA though. Ask the village idiot he'll tell you how Pope's recruiting is fine.

I don't recall saying Mo was taller than 6'8" or jumped well but Mo guards the post better than Jelly and it's not close; it's why Jelly goes to the bench when we face a team with a post up threat at the four. The height of the top of the head isn't everything.Dude. Mo is 6’8 and doesn’t jump well. He would get destroyed at the 5. Jelly is your only hope if you sit BG.
LMAOKam most definitely doesn't take any of Jellys minutes it's the other way around. Jelly more consistent with his shot, handle, rebounding and defending multiple positions. It really isn't close if you're paying attention.
MM didnt deserve to have a foul called on him everytime he looked at someone eitherHe did not deserve 18 minutes yesterday
That’s what ticks me off about him. He can be good but against good front lines he just disappears. We can’t afford that.Brandon Garrison. Added only 3 rebounds in 17 minutes 32 seconds. Committed 2 turnovers and 5 fouls

Well...I get your point...but he is in no way a 4 either....he can't dribble well, shooting below 20% from deep....he can't back down smaller PF and score...not sure he's a great defender away from the basket. He just isnt a 5. He's a traditional 4 that Pope keeps trying to play at the 5 because he lacks modern 4 man skillset. So anytime he plays a physical 5, he's going to struggle.
His best minutes vs any physical team has been playing with Moreno. However jelavic is just better in every aspect, so its tough to start garrison.

It’s not that JQ isn’t better than Garrison. He absolutely is. But he’s not turning this team into a Kentucky top 10 team and top 2 seed. Kam was absolutely awful most of the season, he began to look better sure. But are we going to ignore the guy can’t guard a stop sign?
Lowe by a lot of peoples account is going to hurt you more than he helps you. I don’t know why that’s a hard concept. I mean like I said I was watching the field of 68 and all said they don’t even know why Mark recruited him. They all believe addition by subtraction.
The point remains, even with those guys we aren’t winning a lot of these games and Marks lineups were horrendous with them. Once they were out the rotations settled and we were BETTER. So regardless, this team wasn’t winning the SEC or making a final four. It wasn’t happening, did we all miss the blowouts one after another?

Calipari took 15-25th rated freshmen. He got his lunch eaten by Duke. The Wall's KAT's, AD's etc all stopped coming here. For Duke. Duke gets top 10 guys regularly and typically mixes them with portal pieces. They've made 2 final fours in the last 4 years. I've always said the best mix is a top 10 freshmen or two with a few portal pieces and some returnees.Like UK, under Cal, Duke wins a lot using top Freshmen. But, is that the way to win a title? (Food for thought)
2022 - Final Four Kansas - No freshmen in top 9 scorers
2023 - Round of 32 UConn - Top scoring freshmen 4th (9.3) and 5th (6.7)
2024 - E8 UConn - Top scoring freshman 5th (11.1)
2025 - FF Florida - Top scoring freshman 9th (3.2)
BTW, I had NO idea of what I would discover when I looked this up. Scoring doesn't tell the whole story but it is still interesting, IMO.
Yea it’s only guys who played and coached and who cover basketball for a living who said Pope failed by even refitting him. The troll cowboy says he’s fantastic that’s what matters.Stopped reading at "Lowe hurts you more than he helps you"
Post Fail, Basketball Braindead
If Pope loses "his team is injured" if he wins "amazing! his team is injured". Convivence. Heard it before with Calipari's "I have the youngest team in the country".Yea it’s only guys who played and coached and who cover basketball for a living who said Pope failed by even refitting him. The troll cowboy says he’s fantastic that’s what matters.
It’s been believed by many that a shoot heavy PG who shoots in the 20’s is better on the bench for this team. The team has done better without the crazy lineups by Mark. But you want to throw all that off by giving him more players that might have been an issue to begin with.
It’s an excuse. “He’s injured!” Sounds like a good excuse until you see a volume shooting PG who can’t hit is the guy you’re talking about. I’m good without Lowe running the team and we’re better without it.
I don’t know what’s hard about this but People continue to throw it all in a vacuum to come to a conclusion they want.Calipari took 15-25th rated freshmen. He got his lunch eaten by Duke. Oh don’t forget the speech that was said over and over when he began to win some games. If Pope loses "his team is injured" if he wins "amazing! his team is injured". Convivence. Heard it before with Calipari's "I have the youngest team in the country".
It makes sense if you aren't looking at this with logic and reason. And instead are letting emotions for a man/charisma dictate your position. The image of Pope in a UK jersey is flashing in their brain. So they start spinning.I don’t know what’s hard about this but People continue to throw it all in a vacuum to come to a conclusion they want.
Calipari was not getting the best freshman he was getting what Duke didn’t want and rolling too young. That’s it, that’s the answer. Get top portal players and mix in a top 5 guy, that’s your recipe. This is not hard to understand. Mark can’t get top portal picks and can’t recruit a top 25 guy let alone a top 5/10. That’s the issue.
I don’t believe a few of these guys don’t get it either.
Yea I think there is a place for Garrison. It’s just not against certain teams. And when we play those teams, Pope plays him way, way too much. I realize he’s what we have but that’s part of the problem. He really shouldn’t be here to begin with. He belongs in a UT, LSU, or Ole Miss uniform. The fact that he’s here is the issue. Garrison shouldn’t be more than a 5-10 minute guy for air spells. Issue is, Pope knows he has a son and he’s helping him. That’s my opinion; we’re putting a lot in front of winning games. No other explanation. And how Garrison was a burger boy? That’s just, wow. It’s not all bad. I know he didn’t fill the stat sheet, but he does provide an element of toughness around the goal that we need at times. Garrison going all out in the toughness column for 10 minutes per game is pretty important.
I sure hope we can get him back by the SEC tournament. Hopefully before, but he can be the difference maker for some bigger teams. I would love to see him against Florida at home and let’s see what happens. And there are people saying JQ wouldn’t make a single bit of a difference. Hilarious.
This post says it all about you. You make a stupid comment, that Lowe wouldn't help us, and instead of standing up for what you believe, you waive the white flag by running and hiding behind talking heads that you say don't like Lowe or that "many believe" LMAO.Yea it’s only guys who played and coached and who cover basketball for a living who said Pope failed by even refitting him. Yeah, I mean, he showed me enough in the St Johns game to tell me he has tremendous value.I sure hope we can get him back by the SEC tournament. Hopefully before, but he can be the difference maker for some bigger teams. I would love to see him against Florida at home and let’s see what happens.
See, you said something interesting there...Calipari took 15-25th rated freshmen. He got his lunch eaten by Duke. The Wall's KAT's, AD's etc all stopped coming here. For Duke. Of course they could help but they aren't some superstars who would make this team a title contender.Yeah, I mean, he showed me enough in the St Johns game to tell me he has tremendous value.
And hey, if he ends up not playing well, it's fine, put him on the bench and go back to what we were doing before.
The mental gymnastics on here are amazing to me. People hate Pope so much that they're trying to convince everyone that JQ, Kam and Lowe all suck and wouldn't help at all.
We don't know that. We just pushed a true title contendor on their home floor without those 3 guys.Of course they could help but they aren't some superstars who would make this team a title contender.
