Love to see him go to Florida under Golden. Pope has never developed any bigs in 2 years. I guess next year will prove if that the case. I think he will do great if he lands in a good program.
lol he’s not going to Florida he’s going to SMU or a school in Oklahoma. He was below average here in 2 years and will be the same anywhere he goes

Nothing personally against Garrison at all. On the court he reminded me somewhat of JaVale McGee in that there would be moments or a string of them where you were like “holy crap that was awesome” and then there would be a moment or string of them that were the goofiest basketball plays you’d seen in a while. Like comically ridiculous the gap between the good and the bad.
Reminds me of former UK center Johnny Pittman who transferred to Oklahoma State back in 1989.

You’re twisting his words. It says “one of” the most coveted big “men”. Not the most coveted big “man.”

That small difference changes the meaning considerably.

You joined Monday, half your posts I've seen are just sh*tting on Pope, and you liked Garrison. Hm.

Anyway, best of luck to Garrison. Hope he finds a place to .
I put him on ignore after seeing his stupid name.

You might be right, but I just have a hard time believing Pope would actually tell them that. Seems too nice for that.
Believe that Keegan Brown is important in the role of establishing what a player is worth, the players pluses and minuses, and how he could fit or does not fit on this team’s preferred style of play next season.

May be cold and calculated but college basketball is now a business from the players and teams perspective . This makes it easier to deliver the bad news to a player as it is also the prerogative of the player to say that he is leaving for greener pastures.

Don’t worry guys, we’ll sign a center from KCU in the transfer portal! Ole Whiff God said his main priority is going to be player retention, yet here we are. One 4* recruit signed and 3 guys already going portaling. HOPE IN POPE!!!!!

He’s definitely an enigma to me. He was actually one of our best performers in the SEC tournament and especially the Santa Clara game. He was also went through stretches in the regular season where he often looked like the worst player on the floor when he entered games. I don’t hate the guy like a lot of people seem to, but I also won’t mind if someone more consistent ends up taking his spot in the rotation.
Enigma is an accurate term to use with Brandon. All American for a game, then several games of nothing. Has spurts but no consistency and as a rising Senior, little room to grow. We were spoiled with Amari and may not find a better alternative in the portal than BG, but I think this is a good decision for both parties.

Pope's first year here. He got a late start , was building from nothing and put together a pretty good roster. He tied an NCAA record for the most top 15 wins. All while dealing with 4 significant injuries.

I don't get those who say he can't put together a good roster. He absolutely proved the first year that he can.

This past year sucked. So he absolutely can throw a stinker as well.

I would imagine he feels the pressure this year, and will put everything he has into building a top 10 team. If he can't do it this next year, then it's obvious he's not right for this job.

I'm excited to see what he can do. And if we are underwhelming again next year, then let's get a different coach in here who can perform to our expectations.

Pope absolutely gets a 3rd year to prove himself. I don't get what fun it is to be so negative about it before anything ever happens.

Yep…when you start with a broken toy, you might struggle to claw your way out of it. I’m not happy with where the program is, and the near term outlook isn’t bright….but…I’ll give it a minute based on the injuries. Next season is very important

Lol. Dude, didn't twist anything. Just paraphrasing. He is still not " one of" the most coveted big men. The statement is still absurd. I'm sure someone will take him because big men are fewer in number. But no top programs are going to be interested for what he was probably making here.

When I often times said "I hope this whole team leaves", Brandon Garrison was the poster child for that statement. Good riddance.

I dont think ive ever seen a player make so many dumb and costly mistakes.

Garrison couldn't control his emotions.

He had moments where he shined, but he's a walking technical foul and what we saw was Pope continually try to find ways to limit his minutes throughout the season.

Hate to see anyone go but based on what I've read Pope was going to have to tell some players their market value at UK is less next year, and there is zero loyalty for what Pope has done for him, and more importantly, what Pope has tolerated from him.

I wish him well. His contributions to UK have resulted in nothing meaningful for the program.

Next man up
