GS is a QB. Probly not precise enough for Leach and the air raid judging off last years performances. Plus he did throw a few interceptions. Not like KJ but again he didn't throw nearly as much either. But still can't you just see him ripping off 20 and 30 yard runs every third down ? Its all about stringing together first downs and I could see him getting it done

Weird woulda thought Leach would like a guy that looks like he's been stuck out in sea for the last 3 years without a razor

Don't blame him. No need to go through the rest of the season and possibly get hurt. He shouldn't have a hard time landing in a good spot.

A highly rated 4* dual threat qb. Leach had walkons and 2* qb’s play effective football for him before. You can’t tell me Shrader isn’t a better thrower than some of the guys he has set records with. He was a 17ing 4*. If they rated 4* dual threat qb’s just off of their legs then Relf and Fitz would have been can’t miss 5* prospects.

57.5% as a true freshman with the worst group of receivers in the sec. Yeah, he really sucked.

I’m not a football coach, but I don’t think I’ll ever understand how a player like Shrader doesn’t get a chance at QB in this system. He is plenty capable of passing the ball and picked up Moorhead’s complicated system just fine. Why he hasn’t been given a couple of series just to see what he can do is something I probably won’t ever understand.

Fact is he was given the opportunity throughout camp and he fell short in passing.

Fact is, I loved the kid. Loved watching him play and I 100% hope that he lands where his talent is the best fit and it leads him to the next level.

Fact... people are making all of this (the losses.. etc) too personal and reactions are way over the top.

Question, how do you know for a "fact" that he was given an opportunity and fell short. Where you at the practices or are you just assuming? Personally not taking the losses that way, but losing like we have it's just really bad. Does Leach deserve several years to fix this , sure of course he does, but never been a fan of his offense, we'll see. Shrader is gone and best of luck to him and same for Rogers should he become the starter.

Hate that. Product of us going to the air raid and getting a coach that won’t adapt. Two coaches in a row. He couldn’t have done worse than Costello and certainly has more experience than will and he would definitely not slide if we needed the extra yard.

Costello already had more yards than Schrader had last year. Yeah, he was worse. Way worse.

HA!

20$ the sone of a ***** winds up at Oregon
Another 20$ says he turns into Justin Herbert Lite.

I’ll be rooting for him.

Btw, everyone needs to calm down and trust the Pirate. I had an AM thread, all typed out this morning, in regards to some positives..... and the fricking screen flicked and wiped it. Then I wiped it. Ya dig?!

It’s a shame but the right move for him. He could have helped us win some

Games this year at QB but it was not to be. Best of luck to him.

Can I just add that I think the whole accuracy thing continues to be overblown? KJ has thrown roughly 50 dump down passes to RBs this year. Fifty... Remove those from the equation, and he is sitting at 80 completions on 146 attempts. That’s 55% to go along with his 10 picks and immobility.

Now if I’m being honest, I don’t think Shrader would would be able to do much significantly better. However, I’m not sure that we need someone to be significantly better. We need someone that can actually move a little bit when hurried, someone that is a reasonable threat to run, and someone that will STOP TURNING IT OVER.

KJ throws a pretty ball when he has all day, but that’s not the reality right now. Leach may need to take his own advice and find a QB that’s consistently good instead of occasionally great
