Multiple chances to press the lead and create a dynamic we’re washed. It would have to come from behind. But play conservatively to not lose, and then the game was within one score very quickly same as last week at Minnesota.

Yep, I was screaming if you don’t score here that’s gonna be 10 seven in no time.

Am I the only one that sees it every time Ethan runs to the line with his fake change of play it to run every single time the play calling is so obvious Duff and strong are so good that they get the ball as is DT. If we had any sort of misdirection whatsoever, it would be incredible.

The Patel situation is just weird- went from being automatic under 40 to it being a crap shoot at 30...How does that happen in a single year?
Noticed a hitch in his kicking routine in the second game and posted on this site. And was talked down. He is slower to the ball and his strike angle is different than years past. It’s almost like he is trying to kick everything for distance (50+yards) versus for accuracy and precision. It’s not just game time routine, very much noticeable in pre game routine. His body has morphed also. Looks like he bulked up. Also doesn’t help that we don’t have a designated ST coach. And the specialists are on an island warming up with student managers shagging balls and not coaches.

absolutely..the old greg mentality takes over and he says well we can maybe milk some time as we go in rather than quick striking them when they are deer in headlights, going for the fg was absurd as well

Schiano isn't going to change too much. He is what he is. Rutgers doesn't belong in the Big Ten. If we were in the ACC, fans would be loving Schiano for improving talent enough to win, which he would do. Other sports have stepped up but this football program won't be able to make that jump. NJ residents just don't care about it. Heck, most Rutgers grads don't care about it. It's hard to fill the stadium, never mind build a war chest. Still, there have been opportunities to win and elevate the program and Schiano can't get out of his own way on game day. Keep choppin' I guess

I don’t think it’s GS who was causing the problems when there was a 10 zero lead. KC has been calling extremely unusual games in the red zone – see giving Sam Brown two carries in the red zone in his first car of the year against Minnesota.

His play calling is so predictable for anyone who watches the games, much less paid professional coaches to study the opponent. We got the ball inside the 40 up 10 zero and we don’t try to press that advantage in any way and do the same old RPO, Ethan and run to the line like there’s a big change and then hand it off It’s all the same.

Why is Sheffield not used in a whole host of other ways, including and around, bubble in motion routes? We had one good bubble screen to Ian Strong sometime ago and then shelled it. Someone mentioned how about an end route to black.

To say we don’t belong in the big 10 is pretty absurd because the last three weeks we played games that could’ve gone either way and are we should’ve won. GS is right about consistency that the team is not to that level yet and I think There is some argument that it does take time. That being said the offensive play calling the last three weeks when there’s a chance to extend a lead and make the other team go for risky players which could’ve caused separation is a large part of the problem, as well as the use of the Receiver talent we are blessed with this year

Interesting that KC did change it up a bit last night, going to the RB in mult ways. Prior to last night, 90% of passes to a RB was short, in the flat and to the left.

A little---Does anyone think we have been using Sheffiled or Strong correctly? Go look at all the ways Sheffield was used at his prior stop.

Kirk made Gavin and now Athan do that silly run to the line as if some big play is coming...but its always a handoff play. That's his creativeness. Works first few games but then opposing teams are ready for it.

He's pretty simple in his approach --GIIVEN the weapons to work with and aqb with an arm.

Man I remember thinking the same thing on those Brown carries. I was losing it. THIS is the situation you're going to give him his first carries? Insane.

hold on, you guys think GS didn't ok using Brown in the game and at KC's discretion? Brown shouldn't have been in the game at all!!!!

Missed TD Scoring opportunities.
Opposing teams make adjustments at halftime and exploit the open middle of the filed with passes along with sizable QB runs for first down on passing plays.

"hold on, you guys think GS didn't ok using Brown in the game and at KC's discretion?"

Of course but KC's "DISCRETION" was used for first carries in the red zone. which is the problem mentioned. It's proper to give the OC latitude to call plays etc.

But also proper to correct that if it's not going right. His under or wrong utilization of Sheffiled, Black and Strong needs to be corrected.
