Marquette-St. John's has been the much better game in the early window. Jonnies in trouble if they lose this one at home.

Syracuse is in a dogfight with a dreadful Louisville team.

So does SJU just not play their home games at MSG anymore? This is the third game I’ve seen where they played at Carnesecca Arena.

By the way if St. John's doesn't make the tournament this year that's four years with no appearances for Mike Anderson.

Steve Lavin made it twice in five years and got fired. Chris Mullin made it once in four years and "resigned."

They might be looking for a new coach this offseason.

Would they look at Brandon Knight?

Curbelo not available for St John’s for “not adhering to team rules” … unsurprising from that headcase

Syracuse survives Louisville, who had a chance to win it at the end but their guy slipped over

BC beat Notre Dame too.

The ACC is trash.

Rick Pitino is the name to watch at St. John’s for next season if Anderson is not renewed.

Creighton beats SHU 83-61 and it wasn't even that close. They were playing backups for the last 6 or 8 minutes. Led by as much as 32 at one point.

Minnesota is a turnover waiting to happen on every trip down the floor - we will roll on them early and often . . .

NET 15 Virginia goes down at NET 71 Pitt, and will fall behind us tomorrow morning.

And NET 27 Kansas St beat up on NET 9 Texas in a game where no defense was played.... 116-103?

I mean Wahl got hurt and had to leave early on. Minnesota looked awful. Not impressed by Wisconsin either.
I thought that they looked hungry, unfazed, and athletic.

Their youth is a good match up for us.

But they are capable of creating lightening in a bottle.

That said we should win handily.

I’m sure the cost for an MSG game is a lot more and with a meh product probably not a big draw

They play four games there all against classic Big East opponents. Marquette was not expected to be this good. They play Villanova, UConn, Providence, and Georgetown at the Garden.

If Capel doesn’t do it for Pitt, I expect Brandin Knight to be a very serious candidate for the gig - such as it’s his job to lose.

Capel however has 2 big wins vs UNC and Virginia.
Pitt’s having a pretty good year, and were coming off a win against blue blood UNC, and yet the Pete was barely half full last night against #11 UVA.

I guess the several years of mediocrity and losing has worn down what used to be a pretty rabid fanbase?

The NCAA tournament is in MSG this year (Sweet 16 and Elite 8). So I believe St. John's had to limit the number of games played there otherwise it would count as a home arena and they'd be ineligible to be sent to the East regional. Villanova runs into this issue when tournament games are at the Wells Fargo Center too.
