We haven't had just 1 bad game, though. That's my point. We've had several and luckily playing in the SEC has helped us mask some of those bad games with wins.

Everyone has had some bad losses.

We do have a better shot than most. But with the talent we've got, we should have a much better shot than we currently do.
Were you following UK back in 2013 - 14 by chance?

You're making it too easy. Our defense is most definitely not screaming in all caps horrible. If you really believe that it is you are eat biter, window licker stupid. We play very, again screaming in all caps, selfishly? We have the 5th most assists per game in the country. Pretty hot take dip ****. We aren't fundamentally sound? This is just your uneducated opinion. What do you base this idea on? Given your hyperbolic stupidity in the rest of your posts, I'm gonna assume your wrong about this too.

Yes, I really do believe that. I wonder the same about you. Are we watching the same team? As I said earlier, you must think you know more about this team and basketball than Cal. Because even he said tonight and several previous nights just how selfish we've played. Fundamentally sound? These are things that fundamentally sound teams just don't do.

I think it's time for you to give the computer back to mommy and go to bed. The adults are trying to talk about the game.

Using your metric, Gonzaga is the only team in the country with a chance of winning it all.

Every other team in the country bar none has had more than one bad game this year.

The odds are against any team winning it all, but we've got a much better shot than most. We need to keep improving, get hot in March and have a little luck to do so, but it definitely can happen.

Acting like the season is over already and we have no shot whatsoever is just silly.

I don't think he's saying we don't have a chance to win it. I think he's saying, if we don't it will probably be because we tried to play like this, which we do most games and just win with athletes.

Ok. How so? In Cal's interview before the half, I believe he mentioned how selfishly we're playing. That's not the first time he's said that, either. Great teams don't blow leads to as many teams as we have, either. Great teams also aren't losing to a 10-9 team.

I'm not saying we're not a good team because we are. I just don't think we're good enough to win it all.
we haven't "blown leads"... we've lost two games. How does that keep going over your head?

Blowing a lead is what Villanova just did..up 15 at the half, loses to 13-6 Marquette.I wonder if their fans are giving up?

We're 6th in the nation in assists. We're not a selfish team.

Last year no.1 seed Kansas lost by 19 to 12-20 okst. That same year no.1 seed Virginia lost to three separate NIT teams. 1 seed Oregon lost by 11 to no-post season unlv...and those are only the losses; great teams inch out close wins against bad teams extremely often. I could go on and on.

You're also wrong for acting like it's just the norm for us to never run away with games...we've won more than half of our conference games by 16 or more.

Well, I'm done for the evening.

This game has sucked royally, and yes this team has problems. Lots of work to do.

Way too early to give up on them or the season though.

I think he has.

"Games Like This Are Why We Won't Win It All"

So? He's saying he doesn't think we'll win it because we've been playing like an AAU team all year. He doesn't think we're likely to stop. That doesn't mean he thinks it's not possible or doesn't hope we do. He's right, if we don't learn to play team basketball we won't. In fact, I doubt we make it past the sweet 16 IF we don't. I hope we do and still think we have a good chance to do so but that's his opinion.

UT always plays us tough, anyone expecting a blowout hasn't been paying attention to the history of this building.

We may not win it all but I'd rather be in our position than a lot of other teams. This game also means nothing if we beat Kansas Saturday.

I said this a while back. Kentucky was not going to go 18-0 in the SEC not sure why anyone thought they would. I said this isn't the 2012 or the 2015 team. They have talent but they are not the favorites they are 1 of many teams that can win it all this year.

It sucks losing especially to middle the road type teams but this is not a great team this is a good team.

Just because you win games, doesn't mean you've blown leads. You've obviously got a lot to learn about sports. We blew a 17 point lead to SC in our last game. I believe we also blew a pretty big lead to Mississippi State recently, too.

You're making your 'knowledge' of the sport be known. Even Cal has said we're selfish several times, including tonight. I think I'll take his word and what I've seen over your opinion.

Did either Kansas or Virginia win it all last year? Also, did they supposedly have more talent than anyone else in the nation? I don't think so. If I remember correctly, we did. We also do this year, too. While I realize having all that talent doesn't guarantee a title, we shouldn't be playing this bad, this way at this point in the year.

No one was expecting a blow out, but I know I was expecting it to be a comfortable win. Instead, we're on the verge of getting blown out. Yes, a double digit 10-9 Tennessee win over #4 Kentucky is a blow out.

Cal has never said we're a selfish team that I can recall. Have we had plays or stretches or a player or two took bad shots? Sure, every team does..especially teams with young players.

So what if Kansas or Villanova didn't have as much talent as us? They certainly weren't hurting in the talent department, and definitely had more experience...Apparently being a number one seed isn't a good enough sign for you that a team is extremely good... so what you're really you're whining about is that we haven't been the absolute undisputed best team in the nation so far, obliterating every team we play.

It's hilarious that you think it's a good idea to comment on anyone else's lack of knowledge of the game when you start bitching if we aren't winning by 30 at halftime. Best of luck to you

Championship caliber teams usually don't lose to garbage programs like Tennessee. Defense has been the issue all year long and it will continue to be a problem. Not sure why this team hasn't taken the defensive side of the game to heart but, it certainly hasn't. Might not be fixable.

You OBVIOUSLY haven't been watching the games, especially the halftime interviews if you don't think Cal has said we've been selfish in our play.

Being a number 1 seed is a LOT different than being a number 1 seed and being KENTUCKY. That gets you absolutely NO benefit. In fact, you could argue that it might even make your path more difficult!

Again, it's not the fact that we're losing. It's HOW we've lost this game. It's also how we've won against others. As someone mentioned before, we are beating teams with talent, not because we're a better team. Again, that is a MAJOR issue.

I don't understand why you don't see that or anything else. As far as my commenting, I wasn't upset about losing, but how we are losing. These aren't new issues.

Just as I and several others have show you guys that you're wrong, too.

Take Willis shot just now. Purely selfish. We didn't need that 3 pointer then. He went away from feeding Bam. Instead, he took it and missed it. Tennessee took it back and went up by 4.

That was bad basketball IQ.

So we just had back to back low basketball plays. Technically we were down by 2 and had 3 back to back to back low basketball plays.

That sealed the deal.

This year. This should be a game where we run away with the the score, but as usual, it's not. Poor defense and selfish ball play is what will do us in later in the year. These are the same things that have haunted us all year. We are just not a fundamentally sound team.

This team is a good team compared to the rest of the nation, but unfortunately we are not good enough to win it all.

I've been telling EVERYONE we don't have it this year, of course, trolls come out, blue tinted glasses wearing punks troll on. Be a fan, but don't be blind. Don't be angry, we are an excellent offensive team when at full strength our defense will not be sufficient for the NCAA tourney. We are not built to be a NCAA tourney winning team where half court ball rules the roost, we are a glorified AAU TEAM AT BEST. We will end the season with a decent record, but Come tourney time it's your *** Mr postman!

We are an AAU team right now. The play down the stretch was atrocious. We gave up easy look after easy look and jacked up threes. Fortunately, a couple went in or this is a 10 point win for UT. You have to get easier shots than your opponent when you play good teams. We do the opposite. We're just so talented we hit a lot f the shots.

This team just cares about getting theirs and that's it. Unfortunately this just isn't a team that is going to get far in the Tournament unless MAJOR changes are made.

This team is an early out. The problems we have are not fixable. Well they are but it requires sitting down some 5 stars for extended periods. And our coach absolutely will not do that.

It is concerning and it is fixable but I agree, I don't think Cal will do it. I think this team is destined for a flame out which is unfortunate given the potential. This is Cals worst coaching job since he's been at UK.

It's a roster problem, you need 6 really good players minimum, and ideally they're well balanced and compliment each other

We have 4, 3 are freshman, and two of them are guards that can't shoot. None of them have viable backups.
