Games Like This Are Why We Won't Win It All

This year. This should be a game where we run away with the the score, but as usual, it's not. Poor defense and selfish ball play is what will do us in later in the year. These are the same things that have haunted us all year. We are just not a fundamentally sound team.

This team is a good team compared to the rest of the nation, but unfortunately we are not good enough to win it all.

Some of you guys on here are just down right spoiled. Do you not think that we could improve in the next month? Are we going to be the same team we are today? Even the best of teams have games where they don't play their best. You don't go through the season just mudd stomping everyone you should beat. It just doesn't happen that way. With Kansas looming on Saturday, I didn't really expect them to play well tonight. Ask any old gambler and they'll tell you that "trap" games are real and this would definitely be a trap game for us.

But about your comment, even if we lose this game, it is by no means any indication of how we will perform in the tournament. We will continue to get better and we will not be the same team in a month. I guess you've already given up on the team. Maybe you should just quit watching since you see no hope. Do us all a favor and just stop watching.

I suspect we'll lose this game. Guess what? It won't be the last time - we'll lose at least one more league road game, my guess. Losing a game doesn't mean you can't win a title. Sheesh.

What about all the games against average teams where we've won by 20+?

Are those proof of why we'll win it all? Are we going to win the title and lose the title? I don't know if I can handle that much excitement and disappointment.

Seriously, who's beating every bad team by a ton? Especially on the road in conference play. Name them. 16 of them, in fact, since this is why we're a Sweet 16 team at best.

Well we know that we always get the hardest bracket and we most likely always will. With that said, depending on the matchups, we don't have what it takes to beat enough teams that we will probably have to play.

Unless our boys are sick, and that's a possibility considered they played a sick team Sat., I expect they will come out renewed and ready to finish this game with more aggression and athleticism. First step is deliberately and consistently feeding Bam especially since he's not in foul trouble.

In a way, that's one of my points. Bam has played like a man among boys, yet our guys seem more concerned with getting theirs than letting the big man go to work. It's been that way for most of the season. That is an issue.

We haven't improved as much and I had hoped we would to this point. What makes you think we will improve to the level that we need to in the next month?

As far as not watching, I will always watch. I have just tempered my expectations this year. No one wants you guys to be right and me to be wrong more than me, but I've watched a lot of basketball over the years and I just don't think this team has "it."

I wholeheartedly believe we will leave Thompson Boling a winner and I'll be surprised but not suicidal if we don't. Conference stuff happens that shouldn't. One thing is for sure that we need a more selective ref process in hiring.

Guess you're a new fan, and don't know the history of the UK UT games.

Not at all. We own the overall series pretty well. I just assumed that series also extended into Tennessee.

With their domination of us in football, it's embarrassing they've also had so much success against us in our sport.

Don't have to be a basketball coach to recognize stupid. And I told you where already. Not only do you need to brush up on basketball but it seems you may need to work on reading comprehension.

Again, please tell me where I need to brush up on basketball.

Our defense is HORRIBLE. Our offense is good, but we play VERY selfishly. We are not a fundamentally sound team. All of those are issues with this team

Exactly where am I wrong?

You're wrong in acting like great teams blow out bad teams every single time they play. You're wrong in acting like we're losing. You're wrong in thinking we play "selfishly"

Ok. How so? In Cal's interview before the half, I believe he mentioned how selfishly we're playing. That's not the first time he's said that, either. But let me guess, you know more than he does, right?

Great teams don't blow leads to as many teams as we have, either. Great teams also aren't losing to a 10-9 team.

I'm not saying we're not a good team because we are. I just don't think we're good enough to win it all.

When you supposedly have the best talent the country no team at 10-9 should beat you.

You all are cowards. Instead of debating the facts with the OP you call him names and say he's stupid. This team is selfish and does play like an AAU team. They will not make a final four if they don't learn how to play like a team. Maybe a few losses will be a good thing.

Using your metric, Gonzaga is the only team in the country with a chance of winning it all.

Every other team in the country bar none has had more than one bad game this year.

The odds are against any team winning it all, but we've got a much better shot than most. We need to keep improving, get hot in March and have a little luck to do so, but it definitely can happen.

Acting like the season is over already and we have no shot whatsoever is just silly.

I hope so. I just feel like they should've already corrected these issues or at least improved in these issues that this point in the season and they just haven't.

That is very concerning for a team that is the favorite to win it all.

We haven't had just 1 bad game, though. That's my point. We've had several and luckily playing in the SEC has helped us mask some of those bad games with wins.

Everyone has had some bad losses.

We do have a better shot than most. But with the talent we've got, we should have a much better shot than we currently do.

I'm still concerned with this teams ability to manufacture easy baskets and stops. They are winning with athleticism and talent.

You're making it too easy. Our defense is most definitely not screaming in all caps horrible. If you really believe that it is you are eat biter, window licker stupid. We play very, again screaming in all caps, selfishly? We have the 5th most assists per game in the country. Pretty hot take dip ****. We aren't fundamentally sound? This is just your uneducated opinion. What do you base this idea on? Given your hyperbolic stupidity in the rest of your posts, I'm gonna assume your wrong about this too.
