Games Like This Are Why We Won't Win It All

This year. This should be a game where we run away with the the score, but as usual, it's not. Poor defense and selfish ball play is what will do us in later in the year. These are the same things that have haunted us all year. We are just not a fundamentally sound team.

This team is a good team compared to the rest of the nation, but unfortunately we are not good enough to win it all.

It's just PATHETIC when people like you watch one half of basketball, on the road, and sit down and type your little heart away on how we can't win it all. Most teams don't win it all, no matter how good they are man. But to decide it based on one half of basketball on the road is idiotic.

I call it like it see it and I always have. I'm not saying this isn't a fun team to watch because it is. What I am saying is this is a Sweet 16 team, at best. We may even be lucky to make it out of the first weekend, depending on the matchups.

You make some good points about what this team is doing. However, this game is a long way from over, and so is the season.

You should pick one half of basketball every single year and say that's why we can't win it all. You'd be right 90% of the time about us not winning it all, and your little ego would love it.

Based on recruiting, we should be better. That's what I'm saying. Also, I'm not saying we need to replace Cal, not at all. But I think to be a serious title contender, we're going to have to have some older role players.

I suspect the team is getting its collective *sses kicked in the lockeroom. Will be shocked if this isn't corrected in the 2nd half.

You're absolutely right. However, these guys just haven't improved in the areas that they've needed too. Bad defense and selfish play have haunted this team all year. At this point, I don't really know that it can be corrected.

No, I've said this for several games. We have blown LARGE leads to teams that we have no business blowing leads too. That is concerning to me and should be to you, too.

What about all the games against average teams where we've won by 20+?

Are those proof of why we'll win it all? Are we going to win the title and lose the title? I don't know if I can handle that much excitement and disappointment.

Seriously, who's beating every bad team by a ton? Especially on the road in conference play. Name them. 16 of them, in fact, since this is why we're a Sweet 16 team at best.

Unless our boys are sick, and that's a possibility considered they played a sick team Sat., I expect they will come out renewed and ready to finish this game with more aggression and athleticism. First step is deliberately and consistently feeding Bam especially since he's not in foul trouble.

Yeah, the OP may have had some good point in his post somewhere but we certainly are a team that can win it all. Most everyone in the country who is highly regarded has had some off nights and especially when playing a trap game like this one with our guys seeing KU in the background. Let's see how the 2nd half goes before judging our guys losers, OK with you, OP??

Nah. Road game. Rivalry game. Tennessee has proven they can play like this when they want too. Add in that we are their SB and it's really not surprising. Tournament games aren't away games.
