Dang I’m so disappointed. Can’t believe how bad this team is. We’re so bad defensively that I don’t know how much even lowe and JQ can help.

Pope beat a LOT of good teams last year.

Do you know what Pope was offering “stars”? Was it more than all the teams they decided to go to?

TBD, but he seemed to get a gem in Moreno.

Too stupid to comment on.
Billy Gillespie also beat a few good ranked teams his first year before the utter collapse in the 2nd year.

Izzo has a healthy line up and we have no PG. Part of that is on Pope for not having a better back-up, but injuries are killing us early. You can’t deny the impact of those.
I won’t discount the injuries, but shooting 34% isn’t going to beat anyone but mid-majors. Defense is mediocre, screening is nonexistent, rebounding is inept, 1st half effort was sickening. Something is amiss with the team right now and Pope has the challenge to find it and fix it before this season is going to get ugly in the SEC.

Get him here. It will never happen with a AD like Barney. I say get him here.
I like to think that Nate Oats is the Calipari of today. An obvious hire that Mitch was too dumb to hire and proceeded with the disaster that was Gillespie(and sadly, probably Pope). I mean, there are even rumors of Oats not being too thrilled with the NIL situation at Alabama. Lock him down before another team hires him.

Zero excuses for this lack of effort. Pope needs to get that stupid look off of his face and light into the entire team.

Starting to think I’m wrong about Pope. We definitely needed to move on from Calipari, but, I don’t think Pope will last long here now.

16-12 since SEC play started last year, 18-14 in last 32 games.

Glad you are cool with mediocrity.

No one would be mad if Pope stepped down if this season fully imploded. Beg Donovan to come here. Good mix of discipline, fire, steadiness.

plus a winner.
