Overall, the gameday experience for the UT game was better than prior games this year. The audio quality was better this week and last, without the constant barrage of bass. The fans that showed up did a great job in drowning out any noises that emanated from the orange fans or band. I only was able to discern the first few notes of Rocky Top one time. Now the bad: I won't address the quantity of orange. That dead horse is sufficiently tenderized. So, I only have 2 additional negative comments:
1. When we missed the 4th down in OT to end the game there was utter silence from the PA system. UT's band and fans gladly filled the void. If there were ever a time for announcements of the next home game, ticket info, soccer schedule, farting into the mic, something, anything - that was the time. But no, just angry disappointed State fans having to listen to the UT celebration. That is one thing our friends up north have down to a science. The instant the final horn sounds after every EB we win in Oxfart the announcer over their obnoxiously loud PA system starts going on and on about things for several minutes. We should take note.
2. When leaving the West side's main entrance on the south to the Junction, only 2 of the 8 gates between the plaza and the junction were open, causing a backup all the way into the concourse greatly slowing down our escape from the big orange celebration. Not a very safe thing to do - especially given the circumstances.
Now get off my lawn.
