The Sunday game time does 2 things. Assuming we win the first 2, it makes it a LOT harder to come back and pitch Ethan Small in the third game. That was what we did in 2013...threw Graveman against Oregon State the 2nd time to punch our ticket to the Finals. The good news though is that if we can go 3-0, then you have your rotation set for the Finals to throw Small in Game 1 on Monday night. It may hurt our chances to get to the Finals but might maximize our overall chance to win the whole thing.

Well it does give the other side of the bracket and extra day to rest their #1 but should be enough time built in. I just wonder if you get up big early in game 1 does it benefit you to pull small or is it better to save your pen. I'm thinking the latter.

Graveman never pitched against UCLA. Fits and Pollorena got the starts. I expect Graveman would’ve started Game 3 on 4 days rest had we won Game 2.

I wonder if Ginn could pitch game 1. Not too scared to Aubie.

We cannot take anyone lightly at this point but we do have some advantages over Aubie. The biggest is that we have been to the super round 4 straight years and consecutive trips to omaha including a deep run last year. Very few of auburn's roster were even alive the last time the barn went to omaha. On the other hand, auburn did win both a regional and a super on the road. We know first hand how that can translate to success in the CWS.

Saving the pen is the bigger deal.

I would go just like we have so far in the postseason: Small-Plumlee-Ginn. Give Ginn as much rest as possible before his next start.
