I know people laughed at me and it could never happen, but the best thing would be shut this program down for a few years, get a real strategy in place, hire the right people and get the facilities in place, then get after it. It would be much more effective than this.

This is the 1st time I'm gonna say it, and hate having to do so, but Eddie has to go. There is no way in HELL we should be STRUGGLING against 0-7 Central Connecticut. NONE. Unless there is a dramatic turnaround this year, in how his team plays, it's time to "cut the chord."

(* I reserve the right to change my mind.)

Laurent is a player and Corey hitting shots. Need Freeman back out there.

There are pieces. Eddie needs to get more but most importantly keep everyone together for four years which no coach has been able to do.

It cant possibly be overstated how bad CCSU is. Easily the worst team I have seen visit the RAC in over 20 years. It also was the worst the worst half I have ever seen a Rutgers team play. The effort was off the charts poor.

In the 1st half CCSU was beating Rutgers down the court routinely. If CCSU could execute that was a 50-10 type of half.

Why don't you just count them.
It won't take very long!
Lol
I actually did count people in the student section at tipoff and not counting the band there were about 60. Might have gotten up to 100 in the student section after tipoff. Total crowd I'd estimate about 900. Not sure why I was one of them. I have a problem.

Laurent is a good enough athlete that he can put up some stats against the dregs of Division 1 basketball but against the likes of the Big Ten he is going to do some incredibly cringeworthy things and be exposed badly.

We routinely got beat down the floor on defensive yet got no offensive rebounds in the 1st half? Disgusting effort! Embarrassing.

2nd half featured better effort but one play really bothered me. Around 3 minutes to go, Daniels dribble-drives...Lewis is on the baseline. His man helps, and instead of diving to the rim (completely open), he backs up, hoping for his "patented" 18 foot fall away jumper. We already had a guard on that wing. Just a bewildering lack of hoops IQ in that scenario. Didn't affect the outcome, but is a microcosm of our issues.

I didn't even know we had a game, lol. I'm not ready to can Eddie just quite yet, since I like Sanders and Freeman a lot and think Foreman, Williams and Laurent are at least decent players. But we need a few more pieces and we didn't get anything in the fall signing period, so the pressure is on and it'll be especially hard to recruit in the spring with a 10 win season.

How many times can a team shoot in the paint with shoulders not squared to the basket..foreman lewis and daniels. What is our shooting % on shots where shoulders are not squared. I think we lead the nation in 2 categories. Most FGA with shoulders perpendicular to the basket and least amount of charges taken.

A 10-win season is pie in the sky right now. Try 7 or 8 wins.

Bury this in the game thread because i just don't like to rip our kids. Lewis has been awful. Unbelievably bad. He's shooting under 30% and is probably giving up about 70% FG against. And we need him. Even more without Freeman. At this point i'd take decent or even anything resembling not awful.

FIG....for the most part, I enjoy your comments....BUT, I am watching the first half and I have not seen Rutgers get beat down the court as you stated...."routinely got beat down the floor" . In fact, I only saw it twice; on a bad shot by Lewis and when Daniels was back but went over to guard the wrong guy.....it left someone open for a shot. I'm posting this with about 4 to go in the first half.

I am absolutely lost where this comment came from...I expect a little more rational analysis from you.

UPDATE.....I just saw another one on a long rebound off a Goode miss.

I was thinking about this after the SH game. He's got a nice 6-8 foot jump shot but really isn't able to finish under the rim. Defense, however, isn't just limited to him--too much space is given and the opponents are able to get a good look and shoot.
