Disappointing defensive effort thus far. Once again doing a poor job on the boards.

On the plus side, there are virtually no visiting fans at the RAC...enjoy it while you can!

Halftime thoughts:

Defense - Yuck!! Effort is not there. Need to abandon the press in the 2nd half led to too many easy buckets. Allowed 8 offensive rebounds. That cannot happen.

Offense - Mostly good. Can't complain about 38 points in half. 9 turnovers is too much for a half. FT shooting 13-20 is still pretty bad.

Coaching - We subbed off our center very early and never brought him back in. Explains the rebounding situation a bit. There were some questionable lineups midway through the half. Grier looked very lost to me.

Young team-we will see turnovers. Still, they have to be limited and it has to be of huge focus to improve in practice. Agree mildly about the press. Sanders defense effort isn't bad. Thought DE was 5-6/10

Between Freeman and Williams- you have two players who give a lot of effort/toughness to this team. If that spreads, you have a team that will keep the scores close throughout the season.

Daniels is awful in the halfcourt. It's hard to watch. In the open court he's the best on the team but he tries to do way too much with the ball in the half court and always looks like he's close to turning it over. Really would like to see more Goode/Grier, less Daniels..especially against the zone

This "new" offense isn't much different from last season. Rutgers need to learn patience and best shot, not first shot. Especially when you don't have any great scorers to begin with. Gotta make the defense work. Too easy to defend them if they aren't in the open court

Unfortunately, I have to agree.

Central Arkansas is on fire on their jumpers but there is no one in their face. Diallo was getting toasted on screens and cutters.

Corey Sanders and Freeman stepping up in crunch time turning defense into offense. I like this 3 guard lineup of Sanders, Goode, Williams, Foreman, Freeman

I think its fair to say that Freeman is the best player on the team this year. Just an overall good player. Gotta run more plays for him. He's more than just a garbage, clean up player

I'm just watching the gamecast.... but why did DJ Foreman shoot a 3 pointer with the shot clock off and us up by 4?

Either Central arkansas is a great outside shooting team or Rutgers was playing awful defense. I'll go with the latter.

I'd say both. Rutgers is certainly capable of playing much better defense than they did tonite though. They played better D against St. John's for the majority of that game so they're capable of it but I think the problem with this team is really the offense

Like the improvement in Williams this year.
I agree 100%. He is stepping up. We need Lewis to do the same thing. This team seems to have some pieces. If a couple guys step up, it is actually possible to have the O and D click and win a few more than most of us thought possible.
