That's about what we were last season.

Being worse than BYU this year defensively to this degree is the biggest puzzle. Here are our starters and the adj. defensive ranking of the teams they came from:

60
59
11
135
36

Average ranking - 60

Our current adjusted defensive ranking - 88

We'd be cracking the top 15 in Kenpom with the 60th ranked defense. It's like outside of Butler, all of our transfers were below average defenders on their respective teams.
They probably were, except for Williams.

Oh J Rob missed the game too but so did Williams and Carr. They didn't show up either. GA punched UK in the mouth and UK backed down just like OSU and Clemson. The MO of UK.
Yeah we definitely need to play tougher. I hope Pope gets them to play more consistently and stronger. He really needs to challenge Robinson.

UGA held UK to 37.5% shooting and 24% on threes. UK had a total of 8 assists. That defense shut down everyone but Butler. And, even he struggled.

My question: with 1.5 minutes to go and the game out of reach, why not put in Noah and let him scrap and shoot bombs. Don’t see how it could have been worse.

He probably could have but given how Pope played out that last min with the non stop pressing, even down double digits he wasn't throwing in the towel at that point.

I think Pope was teaching the players on the floor a lesson. They are celebrating beating UK, not beating Butler, Robinson or Williams and those guys needed to be out there hearing about it from the crowd and understand that the jersey they are wearing is special and they better play the game for the name on the front.
