Well we could as least mix it up. We out rebounded them. What killed us was the drives to the bucket. I think O still would’ve rebounded well even in a zone. I would say 75% or their points in the second half were via the drive.
That will give the Cal fan girls on here a chance to gloat.
So? Everyone plays cupcakes. It happens. Those games are live practices. That's why they exist.

Kentucky is a pretty damn good team. Ty Ty will be a different guy in a matter of months. Grady is an assassin from out there, off balance, catch and shoot. Duke doesn’t have that type of three point shooter yet and it will hurt.
I am worried about Tyty. I hope he's not another Boston. Hopefully tonight was just nerves, but he did nothing.
If Tyty and Grady help Wheeler, we have something to work with.
Oscar is incredible, but he needs some help badly.
First game and we lost, relax. Saw lots of positives with this team. We were in it til the end despite the free throw discrepancy, arguably our best player having an off night and the 7 or 8 TOs Wheeler had.
For all the talk about our post play being down this year gotta give big O his props, hell of a game. Seems he out rebounded Dukes entire front court.
Yes there is plenty to work on, but just like every other year, brand new team and a long season. Cal will work the kinks out. We will be much better by seasons end!

No way that Tyty is another Boston. No freaking way. He's another freshman, though. He just played one of the most intense games in his life. He'll be fine.
I agree, but Cal doesn’t like doing things to just win games. It has to be about the greater good, the nba, and changing lives.
I’m so sick of him. He doesn’t have time to teach all that stuff.

That’s 100% on Cal. With all the shooting we have theres ZERO excuse to not have a great offense. Not once did we try 4 guard with Oscar or Allen/CJ. Jay Wright would have found a way to play 4 guards and shoot Duke to death tonight.
Cal had the offensive mind of a 6th grader though.
People can say talent was the difference. Paolo is great, Mark Williams whatever. The difference was TyTY being off and Wheller playing out of control when we got within 4 late. The biggest difference in the game was Keels. He was their best player and we had no answer for him.
It was single digits for most of the game and we had the lead at one point. If you want to be upset, be upset, just don't expect people to take you seriously when you come on here and show your a$$.
He looked a lot like BB tonight. I hope it was just nerves, because if he is BB 2.0, we're in trouble.
If he was anywhere close to decent tonight, we could have won. Wheeler felt like he needed to carry the load and that won't work either.

That might not have hurt them tonight, but teams will now know all about Keels. Outside of a slightly better than average Wendell Moore and the great looking Banchero the Blue Devils still have Jeremy Roach as their point guard. Keels and Banchero arent going to be great every night.
We might not have the depth on the interior, but our guards will eventually gel together. We have a point guard. We have a 17 and 19 guy against the #9 team in the nation. UK has a higher ceiling.

An interesting stat for any of Cal’s teams would be points given up on inbound plays.
Look, duke was 8% from 3! 8%! They scored 48 points in the paint. Tell me again we shouldn’t have zoned and forced them to shoot from the outside.
We took 16 more shots and made 2 fewer baskets. Man, we shot the ball badly. A lot could have been cleaned up with an extra pass here and there. Too much hero ball and tough 2s.
Cal said all the stuff folks wanted to hear but when it came down to it tonight, TyTy was allowed to do whatever he wanted. His shot selection was atrocious at critical points in the game as well as some horrible defense. Yet TyTy got the clock.
TyTy may well be the best player at year end, but tonight he was not giving UK their best chance to win. That is the **** that pisses me off about Cal.

We ran our mighty “elbow” play. Bilas even mentioned it. I think it’s where we bend over and let Duke ram it in up to their elbow.
I hope you're right. A lot of BB's problem was that he didn’t care whether we won or lost, I think Tyty cares, but his runner and mid range shooting, are no better than Boston’s was and that’s bad.

On to playing all the chump teams that Cal likes that way he can pad his stats. Can’t beat the good teams but he can beat popcorn state university!
We have to depend on the NCAA taking wins away from Kansas. They deserve to lose some games but we should be able to compete better than we have been for several years.
No, we lost. I'm saying have some freaking perspective. It's not like there aren't very recent examples of far worse losses at the beginning of the year, and everything turned out fine. People are on here acting like they need to call the suicide prevention line.

I hear ya. But I’m seriously considering not watching anymore until something changes. Just tired of the way he does things. Tired of watching guys like Juzang, Allen, etc unable to play in this playground offense.
