Defensive lapses killed us. Duke getting too many uncontested attempts. Rushed offense. Forcing shots. We have a lot of room for improvement. As usual, Duke is not going to get a lot better. You gotta love the effort and intensity we showed at times.

Man, I hope Cal gets a handle on Wheeler and Tyty.

Tyty is Boston 2.0. Wheeler is just trying to do too much. He is way out of control, but at least he's trying, I don't know what you call Tyty's effort tonight. He looked just like Boston to me.

I just don't understand it, 3 plays in a row it seemed he just took the ball and was determined to shoot, then keels scores on the break and he comes down and tries to answer again, no offense just me ball.
Then after a timeout he had a turnover that was unforced . Terrible night hopefully he learns from it .

When you look at it, we shot the ball like *** and turned it over at least 20 times and didn't get beat as bad as you would think, but we're supposed to be better than this. We choked and we have a lot to work on. The talent dispaity really showed tonight.
This is my take, yeah they had Banchero cramping, but if we can clean up the dumb **** I think we've got a good team. Oscar was incredible.

That’s coaching. Doesn’t apply here.
I mean, how many layups did duke get? Especially in the second half? A zone defense shuts down those driving lanes. Play a 1-3-1 with Big O on the baseline to rebound. Not that difficult. I don’t think we pressed them even one possession.

I agree with you. Duke is about where Duke will be all year. We have a TON of room for improvement and we finally have the right parts. They'll get to working together.

I'm sure your comment will be met with fanatics saying we are the worst team ever. My sincere heartfelt apologies for future commenters.

Sloppy game on our part, and the size difference. Much better overall effort. Played a legit team tough. We'll be fine.
The game was teetering on a blowout for almost half the game except one run to cut it to 4 then back to teetering on a blow out. this was embarrassing. dont kid yourself

TyTy being off was too much to overcome. Then the 2nd half down 15 to fight to within 4 then Wheeler **** the bed. Why is Wheeler going into the tress time after time? All I know is this sucks. But I am impressed and feeling better about Oscar. Grady needs easier and more shots. Wheeler looks for too much hero ball instead of passing to open threats from deep.

As a Syracuse fan I love the zone and it has its place but Oscar would get half his normal boards in the zone and we'd give up 5 more offensive boards. Sprinkle it it when needed but aside from a couple stretches we were right there.

I think it's a force of habit that needs to be broken. He did that a lot at UGA because he was all they had. Instincts to help win kick in. It can be corrected.
