This guy is happy to announce that he’s a Quitter.

Horrible match up for us. To beat Iowa you have to both limit to a degree their 3 point scoring prowess and score in the mid to upper 70s. We are not a team able to score outside the 60s during conference play. This means Iowa would need to be ice cold from the outside while we generate a modicum of scoring. Not likely.

Only plus was Mag and Dean. Caleb has been awful ! Cliff - non existent. Cam - invisible ! Defense sucks.

That about sums it up. Only thing I'd add is that Paul has been decent (9/3/4 with a steal, although 2 bad TOs).

I never understand why Iowa always seems to play really good defense against us. They generally suck at defense.

If you can spread the floor with multiple shooters and move it like they do, while playing D they are playing against us, it’s going to be very to win.

We were in the 1-3-1 when McCaffery hit his first. 3-2 won’t fix this, Iowa’s ball movement is too good.

This is the issue. We can’t win games where the other team is really proficient on offense. It’s forces us to score which we can’t do at a championship level.

Iowa is blanketing Cam denying him the ball and collapsing on Cliff in the post making him throw to the open man. Cliff isn’t good handing the doubles or finding the open man against lengthy defenders.

We can’t defend every 3 point shooter they have which is multiple.

You can take away some things. You can’t take away everything.

Making Ulis hit 3s was part of the plan. But he’s hitting them.

Good offense beats good defense in basketball.

And we are very predictable on offense and have no real 3 pt threat

Holy ****. What a garbage start. I think we turned it over in five of the first six possessions. Cliff has 4 TO's and Caleb has 3. Throwing it into the post has to stop unless he's 2 ft from the basket.

Have you seen us play defense? This is basically them matching our style of play. We have a thousand turnovers and keep missing near the basket. Maybe 2 3s so far on our side. They’re outplaying us.

We are playing like garbage. There’s no denying the refs have been favorable to Iowa mostly when we live in the paint and they chuck 3s. Either way, we are not playing well enough to win. Need to turn it around or we’ll be in danger of getting blown out

Remember that game the lead was 34-30 and then they took control the last 3 minutes before half

This time 32-30 with chance to tie and they go on 13-4 run

Its just a piss poor defensive performance and 13 turnovers is inexcusable

The refs have zero to do with this

I disagree. They don’t have everything to do with it, but they do have something to do with it. Iowa seems to use the John Thompson approach sometimes. Be overly physical and take some fouls at the beginning, the officials will become desensitized. They were committing just as many fouls after that quick four, they just did not get called. And Ulis should’ve had a technical at the end for interfering with the inbound.

45 points in one half - iirc, we beat them 48-46 at the RAC last year. I think they're playing better and we're playing worse, lol. I expect to see us play better in the 2nd half, but it's a long way back.
