Down 20 at the half and we’re blaming the refs? lol
This is what I don’t understand. It is both. Right now we suck. Got it. With that said the team is obviously playing cautious with numerous fouls against the . Do you really think Kofi has not fouled ANYONE this game? Cause that it is what it says on the stats sheet.

There's no stat, IMO, that reflects lack of intensity more than rebounding and we're down 22-8. 22-8. Let that sink in. They have more offensive boards than we have boards. That is pathetic intensity and there's no excuse for that in a big game like this. None. Very disappointed in this team and staff tonight.

but this is all the kind of stuff that we have seen from RU the past few weeks. Illinois is not Minnesota, they will take advantage of RU mistakes....RU had the doors blown off from the beginning and it had nothing to do with fouling. You can have Young with 4 turnovers alone in the first 15 minutes

Seems like JY always has a few fast turnovers, too amped up.

We must be watching completely different games.

Yes, Illinois is a better team, and winning would be very tough -

but, you two must be kidding........ right?
Not kidding at all....we are fouling a lot. A whole lot. Because Illinois is exposing us.

And I said the no call BS stuff on Kofi is pretty ridiculous.

It's incredible how many people blame the refs. Ridiculous. Illini is outplaying us, that's all. They're much better defensively than they were earlier in the year, they have two, maybe three, future NBA players, and although we have a good team, we're not as talented as they are. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if we made a little run at them in the second half.

We can hang with any decent team. Illinois is just much better
than that

Look, Illinois is an elite team. They are better than us obviously and better than just about anyone in the country but the frustration over the fouling is that we are going to get run out of the building rather than even try to make it an entertaining game. Frustrating to watch a non-competitive game and watch the other team get so many highlight films plays that are undeserved.

the psychology of this team is an interesting one, its different than an RU team we have had for 30 years of course they are the only ones going to the tourney but last years team had a consistent work ethic. This year the team does not have the hunger. Some of the failed teams of the past 30 years had hunger and were somewhat predictable winning at home, losing on the road, moral victories, this year team is sort of weird and impossible to figure, they seem so randomly interested

Illinois simply has more scoring options along with a dominating center that causes excessive fouling.

when you are turning it over in your first 2nd half possession, I think its time to stop complaining about refs

My main goal the rest of this game is 1 foul on Kofi. That is all I am checking for in the box.

Edit: He got it!

Stop with the that’s all garbage. Again it is both. Illy playing great. Easy to play great when you drive past guys with 3 fouls already. Not seating Illy would still be winning with an evenly called game. With that said a heck of a better watch

8 man rotation and 8 out of 9 fouls are on the 4 tallest players on the floor, 13-20 at that point. 15-27 after. 13-5 could at one PT finished 13-8.

That leaves 6'2 JY, 6'4 Geo, 6'4" MM and "6'6 RHJ. That's why scoring on us was so easy.

I'm not blaming the refs, we'd still be losing - but call a fair game and it's not over at halftime. We shot pretty well, aside from 3PA. Illinois shot 16 FTs to RU 3. When one team is allowed to play beyond physical and the other gets called for ticky-tack it changes everything, even if early errors put RU in a hole. Especially when Rutgers strength is disruptive defense from Myles, JY, and Cliff.

We truly are a very inconsistent team and don't seem as intense as last year's team, at least not as consistently.

You know what happens when you foul? You get called for a foul. We did it a lot more than they did.

Rutgers must have missed at lease ten layups.which is the reason for the score disparity.

Did you see where RHJ was on That last Illinois offensive rebound? About 2 feet behind his man under the basket.
Ok, I'm done. But folks need to watch his play when he's not got the ball in his hands.
