Northwestern hangs on.

Against UCLA.

I feel slightly numb.

Good adjustments on defense, the final two drives.

Ore Adeyi came came back just in time. Big game for him. Fitzgerald also for the D
Komolafe gigantic in the run game. Wilde had a very nice game. Unfortunately he is our only wide receiver. Stone's best game as a CAT. No turnovers.
D came up big on UCLA's last two possessions. We won so I am happy. We needed to win and we did. I wish it was a more dominant performance but a 3 point win counts just as much as a 30 point win.
So enjoy the weekend everyone and take care.

UCLA made some adjustments at halftime, came out and stoned our offense, and almost stole the game. We made no adjustments. Shut out in the second half. Lujan is clueless.

Lujan mostly did OK (not great) but twice he took out Komolafe when he was doing well, including on 1st down at the 3. Times like that, you don't get cute.

Zero points in the second half is not OK.
Zero passes completed in the second half. Stone may have had negative yards with the sack he took.

The OL & RBs look good. WRs and TEs never get open aside from Wilde and occasionally Welcing.

Lujan is a Loser

NO. Your negativity is a total downer. If, when Braun/Lujan reach a point of no return, you then have some reason to renew your negative prognostications. Until then, and I, for one, am not convinced that will happen, please try to get behind this team and coaches and stop torturing us with the shadow of your gloom.

LOL.

This passing game sticks aside from Wilde.

This team can still make a bowl. Or lose out. We’ll see!

We get the ball to start the second half and we need to pile it on.

First half stats:
Stone 9-11, 104yds 1 TD, 0 INT
Wilde 6 catches, 83 yds, 1 TD
Himon 5-57yds
Komolafe 10-55

Keep it up, boys!!

Fake News. ;)

Stone finished 12-18, 115 yards for the game. So 3-7, 11 yards in the second half. Simply pathetic. At least he had more TDs than interceptions, 1-0.

Komolafe finished with 27-119. So 17-64 yds in the second half.

We took a 17-3 into halftime. Finished 17-14.

Ugly second half.

I saw a team that is starting to hit its stride. Braun isn't the kind of guy to kick you when you're down. But after today, he will lay all virtues aside. LA Monroe should be very afraid.

If Braun wants to "lay all virtues aside" (and maybe save his job), he would immediately take the play-calling duties away from Lujan and give it to someone else, perhaps Ryan Olson, Lujan's successor as OC at SDSU last year, and currently our run game coordinator. Put it this way, I don't think he could be any worse.

Not terrible. A let down yes, but UCLA has some athletes who came alive in the 2nd half. Iamaleava is one heck of a QB.
Politely terrible. UCLA is terrible, especially in defense. They looked pretty ready to quit. Their big adjustment was just playing a penny five down linemen formation. And we couldn’t move the ball in the second half. A genuinely dreadful offensive performance in the second half, the worst of the year.

First half team was pretty good.
