Oh dear Lord that was a bad 4th down. Unless we get a stop and a chance at a score before halftime I'm afraid that was our chance to get back in the game.

The problem appears to be NU's offensive line. Rutgers actually looks pretty good, I don't believe it us NU making them look good.

For the most part Bryant has been accurate. A couple of pass rush incompletions, one behind, one short and a few drops.

The pass rush is getting to him. He feels like he has to throw the ball quick even when he has time.
Time to pull him then. Hopefully he can settle down at halftime, but if he can't, need to get him out of there. The ball will have to fly to get back into the game next half. He definitely has the arm though.

Center lost the count twice. Snapped late (I assume) on the false start and then early on that interception.

I would like to see more screens and runs to keep the Rutgers D a little more honest…they are teeing off on our guys…

Yeah, the pick was at least partly on the center for snapping early. O line is the weakest unit out there IMO.

If there's one thing a senior QB shouldn't do is make bad decisions like that. Since the QB competition was reportedly very close, it's not unreasonable to sit him after a pick like that and come out of the half with Sullivan.

We need to quit relying on the portal for our QBs. You want to recruit better QBs, run a system that is QB oriented. Someone dig up Walker's old playbook!

I wish I had a depth chart so that I knew who to be grumpy about.

On the near strip-sack, it was amusing to watch the right tackle get best on a speed rush, then lift his hands to say “not a hold”, then sprint toward the ball as it was whacked out of Bryant’s hand by the guy that had just beaten him.

Anyway, those anonymous guys aren’t so good.

We have the slightest glimmer of hope with a missed FG but realistically there is no way this NU team can

REALLY nice catch by Covey, on replay it looked even closer like his foot was just a few inches from catching in bounds but throw was just a little wide.

This is atrocious. There's not one element of our team that is positive.
Don't agree. Secondary is playing great. Defense hasn't given up any "explosion" plays, but needs a pass rush. Offense is hobbled by bad line play, but at least the play selection is not deadly dull.

Bryant is the least of the problems.

Which is why I was advocating running with Sullivan but we were just too thin and had to take a portal QB, in which case you are going to get a guy who is qualified to start.

The starting offense is comprised of all upper class man. To get 0 points in the first half is abhorrent. Is it execution or scheme? This is Jakes third year. Hands are not being hamstrung by Conservafitz. My expectation would have been more productivity.

Unfortunately you are right about us being thin at QB. Bryant looks good, but if the rush is frazzling him, you have to look at Sullivan. A shell shocked QB isn't very effective. Halftime will cure the shell shock I hope with adjustments with the line.

Rutgers is a very bad and very slow team. If we can’t beat these clowns we might be the worst Power 5 team in the country. Oh and Rutgers fans suck as well. Half-empty upper deck, terrible tailgating and idiots cheering for injuries.
Now I have seen everything, a NW fan talking about attendance.
