Collins teams used to have a problem of trying to sit on leads. You could see the moment in this game up 16 when they decided to bleed clock and take long threes. Missed almost all of them. Basketball is a game of runs. A good team can turn 16 points down into 11 points ahead without much trouble. Collins was unwise to let the guys try to take the air out of the ball.

Cats fade in the 2nd half after playing well in the 1st. Michigan just started making everything and dominated. Martinelli in particular is struggling esp on his 3 pointers. Disappointing play after a big lead but not unexpected to see Michigan come back and dominate as #2.

He’s not a good coach. He got lucky with two point guards who were diamonds in the rough. His players don’t really develop. Look at Mullins, Gelo, etc

I will say Michigan is the least likeable team I've seen all year. I usually root for Michigan, but these guys are real ********.

It's the one thing that drives me crazy about Collins . I've been complaining about this for years.

They’re all NIL mercenaries. Zero care about Michigan. Yet some on our board like that crap which is killing college sports.

We probably lose anyway, but that ******** hook and hold call killed us. You could see the spirit leave our guys after that call. It mentally broke them.

Martinelli was gassed in the last couple of minutes of the first half. I think he lost his legs in the second half.

I think they’d already hit the brakes and seized up by that point but it sure didn’t help.

And then that stumbling, fumbling, out of control Michigan player getting the foul call on Martinelli, who didn't even touch the Michigan player, didn't help either.

Getting home from these game I love reviewing the game thread. The thread is damn near dead when we are up and playing well and then bozo the clown comes on and tells the players how to play and the Coach how to coach. It’s clockwork.

If they're that fragile, they're not ready for prime time. Can't ever give up or let down in a dog fight with the game on the line.

Sorry if I missed this somehow but is Max Green hurt?

I get that we caught some lightning for awhile and defensively brought nice effort, but when we are settling for bricks over and over why do we have so many guys who used to get minutes chilling in tracksuits?

I hate sounding like a broken record but I don’t get the doghouse stuff sometimes.

You mean to tell me that Mullins, Green, and Windham are all not working hard enough to get minutes? Three seems implausible, and as fas as we know Green has a future in the program.

I think it’s a simple as those three haven’t produced when they got a chance this year. I would guess they haven’t done anything at practice that has then jump who currently plays.

No team plays 12 guys in a conference game that isn’t a blow out. I guess I could buy one of them playing Clayton’s minutes, but who else would lose minutes to these 3? I watched Clayton pretty closely yesterday, he was almost always in the right spot on defense. He is much better on defense than Green or KJ. I cringe when he shoots, but none of those three can throw it in the ocean either. I realize everybody loves seeing the ball go through the net and KJ and especially Green have the capability to go off, but both seem like substitutes that come in to try and spark the team when we are way down. We were leading yesterday with under 7 minutes to go.

We’re 2-11 and have thrown half a dozen winnable games away. Nobody is playing well enough to be safe and I don’t think we need to do what the other guys are doing.

I guess I am just a mark for the guys on the outside looking in.

Yeah, we aren’t very good. Are you on the inside?

Collins has no idea how to manage minutes. This continues to be a problem.

My point exactly. It's not like the guys on the court are playing well. This team can't win without shooting from outside. And the two "best" outside shooters sit on the bench. (I'm not saying they would win more games this way. I'm only saying that the team on the court that can't shoot threes isn't going to win games.)

The two guys sitting on the bench cant shoot 3’s either not to mention can’t defend the 3.
