Jeff Gardner single down the right field line. Ball kicked back in play towards the right fielder or else that would have been a double.

Can't win if you don't score. Sad that hitting - and fielding and baserunning to some extent - is letting some good pitching go to waste.

1st game was huge for momentum, etc. if they couldn't beat IU then they probably deserve an early exit

All 7 runs in the 4th were scored after the missed third out at first, right?

Not saying, just saying.

Cards look pitiful after that, but none of that would have happened if not for the safe call.
