Reeves without a doubt is the best player on the team and yet he had to spend the entire season proving it. Our record wouldn't have been so much better if the offense had been run through him all season. But Cal could care less about good offense. If you can't play perfect defense, he can't hide you which is exactly what he did to Reeves for most of the season.
