Look at Brooks get on the floor and then the timeout. That’s a possession right there as ILL would have gotten the jump ball. Little plays like that down the line win games.

We have solid players! Just don’t see where Nance and Young would have added much! We have exceptional leg 🦵 speed! And our playing well in second half all year!

I don’t know how our team runs their practices but man I’d find a way to get our guys legs some rest after this one.

Great defensive effort in a solid win. Can't complain about the officials or the free throw differential tonight! Illinois looks terrible - what the hell happened to the team that beat UCLA and Texas?

Man, that was fun to watch. About a week ago someone asked me if we’re actually good this year. I said i wanted to go at least 1-1 vs osu and ill. So we got that going for us!

Gotta love the way NU has bounced back after bad games. A stinker against Pitt then go on the road and beat MSU. A bad game against OSU then a gritty hard fought win tonight against the Illini.
If we can just make our layups we will really be tough. Great win tonight.GO CATS!!!

The best development of this season is Barnhizer emergence. We need scoring and he seems to be our answer

I agree and understand we ended up scoring a fair amount on free throws as they tried to get back in the game. But if we break 70 in any game like we did today, we will have a good chance of winning.

NU is undefeated when reaching 60 points, according to the stat displayed during CCCs postgame interview.

Just got back from game. Students were incredible.

This is classic. My daughter goes to NU and I'm in NU Parents FB group. There's a whole thread with parents upset that their students were turned away because the student section was full up. There was huge student line waiting to get in.

Then why was the stadium half orange? NU students should definitely have priority! ...But ecstatic to see the student enthusiasm!

Solution! While we are at it - Let's make the football stadium smaller by 13,000 and not let ANY of the students in! That will create demand! The time that the NU students - not exactly a "Duke student section" group tried to go and get in on some school spirit (I am talking about alst nights basketball game) - they were turned away no room! Too small!

Great! Let's have more of that!


Sorry to hijak, sorry! Sorry! But I think this might be the biggest possible blunder being done by NU Athletics ever and we need to stop it now, cmon!

It will affect basketball too!

I'm with you, Eurocat. It seems they are chasing the chic, short-term trend du jour, turning football stadiums and basketball arenas into sound stages for television productions. Game day experience and school spirit be damned!

Student section at Welsh-Ryan has been mostly empty all season, and the only time it's usually close to full for football is when the new Freshmen run the field before the game.

Exactly. At other schools, students have to camp out to get basketball tickets or buy season tickets well in advance. Our students just aren't used to that, nor is our Athletic Department used to a situation where there is an actual demand. Give them a break!
