No energy for discussion or analysis tonight - I just hate blowing games like this by not being well prepared and not bringing full intensity and it makes me not want to post for awhile. Plus I got a storm to track, lol. Makes Saturday really, really important.

RU 2-12 from three isn't going to win many games.

i don’t think intensity was the issue. It was Paul out of sorts, no show Geo and lack of bench production. Defense was fine. Michigan just got hot in 2nd half

Unfortunately when one of the main guys has an off night we don’t have some Top 50 “role player” to come in and rain threes like these other teams. Mag showed energy and wasn’t bad but I have to say how disappointed I am in how Hyatt has contributed this year. Miller isn’t going to provide any offense whatsoever.

And you got the big dive bar reunion on Saturday with Matt P flying in. Hopefully everyone is wearing their mask.

Hyatt is a marginal player

Coaches job. Trend and away record is terrible. He's got to figure it out.
It's always the coach's responsibility. Just like it's the CEO's responsibility of his or her corporation. Constantly lifeless on the road...that's on Pike.

Without Mulcahy on the floor, I knew we were going to struggle offensively.... and when he came back in, he was out of rhythm and frustrated by some questionable calls and shots that wouldn't fall.

Or can it just be for the second game in a row the refs with awful calls took Paul out of the game? Food for thought.

Yes.. but to be clear the players own this too. Pike has to know the buttons and the method..but the players have to have the fire to light.
Terribly immature to only be able to fire up in your own house.

I can’t figure out why we always play terrible in completely lifeless road buildings. You would think we would win one occasionally. Against road teams with real crowds we seem to at least show a pulse.
Good news for Indiana then

I'd be inclined to change "develop" to "recruit", but we still have Jaden Jones riding the pines.
With Geo doing nothing and Paul in foul trouble and bad.... that really would have maybe be a scenario for Jones if there ever was one but just shows he really isn't in consideration at this point

Disagree - I thought the intensity was subpar and we didn’t really have an offense to speak of. Result? This.

How many games this season would you say were officiated either fairly or badly but in Rutgers’ favor?

and actually in the previous game vs Illinois, Geo and Paul picked up fouls in the first 2 minutes

I realize we want to set the tone defensively but....its a 40 minute game, sometimes you need to pick your battles

the inability to develop a bench beyond one or two players a game is an issue
In fairness Pikiell has developed players. Problem is most of roster is that. And one area that glaringly is lacking for development is consistent shooting and finishing around the rim. That’s been an issue In Pikiell’s tenure with exception maybe being Sanders.

I get that but its becoming a pattern EARLY

also vs Wisky, foul on Harper 90 seconds in
Seems to be part of the general lackadaisical starts on the road. I’ve been pounding sample size forever but the difference between home and away performance is significantly more than standard home court advantage affects and might even be approaching *gasp* statistical significance.
