Game schedule beyond October 1st questions

Looking for some feedback/best guess thoughts.

Scenario: Family coming in for Indiana game, October 26th.

--Do TV networks still work with the window that they may wait til 6-12 days prior to game day to announce which televised games they will broadcast or has that changed (referencing Google search that really provided nothing more up to date that 2016)?

--It appears Michigan/Notre Dame is scheduled same day, would a safe hunch be that this game is televised at night thus relegating Nebraska vs Indiana to a 11am start?

--Anyone use BigRed Express (city of Lincoln park and ride service)? I will have an 85 yr old father in-law in tow and will want to limit his steps. Short of having a season parking pass, I'm thinking this might be the next best option??

Yes the TV networks still use the 6/12 day window to determine which games appear in which time slots.

The start time for Indiana/Nebraska should be announced on Monday, October 14th, provided the networks do not use a six day window for games on the 26th.

I've never used the StarTran bus system for the NU games but you need to know the drop off point is on "R" Street near the Student Union and Love Library so there will be a walk of a few blocks to the stadium from there.

Except for ND and Michigan that day ( more likely a night game)Looking at B1G games that day Wisconsin at Ohio St will be the marque game and Penn St at MSU is far behind.. Depends who FOX takes and ESPN(ABC) too..

Ioway at Northwestern is already set for 11:00 with no network yet..

BTN could give Nebraska/ Indiana a 3:00 pm start.

Another option could be to drop him off on campus (on R st by the lied center, for example) and have him wait while you go find street parking farther away. It’s pretty tough to have a walk shorter than that without paying a premium.

It won't be an 11 am game. here's why:

The Noon Eastern window is used a top tier selection for marquee games on the networks, or bottom tier on BTN. Indiana @ Nebraska doesn't fit into either tier that week.

Iowa at NW is already mandated to 11 am because it's NWs homecoming and that s the kickoff they want. That game will be on an ESPN platform.

Tier 1: one of these games will be on FOX At Noon Eastern

Notre Dame at Michigan - Thats up to the network. However, Michigan has never played a home night game this late in the season.

Wisconsin at Ohio State - I think this game will be played the opposite of Notre Dame vs Michigan.

Tier 2 - Penn State at Michigan State - The Big Ten enjoys Noon Eastern marquee games. I believe this one will be on an ESPN
Platform as well.

Needless to say there are only a handful of time slots available for these kicks:

Bottom Tier: 11 am BTN and BTN alternate:

Liberty at Rutgers: this is a brutal non con nobody wants to see.

Illinois at Purdue: this game will be better than watching Rutgers, but it will have very little interest.

Maryland at Minnesota: the Terps will potentially be terrible. and even if Minnesota has something to play for, they still don't move the register.


The 2:30 and 3:00 pm windows on espn and FS1 or BTN will need to be filled. I believe Indiana at Nebraska fits into this window.

You could drop off by parking lots or parking garage ne if stadium. There's golf carts that shuttle older and handicap people to the stadium

I might have an extra parking pass that you could use. It's on the east side of the stadium (not sure where your tickets are, but the east stadium entrance is less than 100 yards away). Let me know if you would be interested.
