Game day in Nashville

I’ve lived in Nashville for years but I very rarely go to the Vanderbilt area. Anybody have any suggestions for game day at Vanderbilt? Best place to try to park? Tailgating areas? Best place to grab a pregame drink? FWIW, I’m taking a friend who’s never been to an SEC game.

Well, I would have to get a ruling from the rest of the pack, but I don't think a Vandy home game would qualify as one's SEC deflowering. SEC virginity will still be intact.

Nashville Dog Alumni Assoc having a "mixer" tonight at Martins BBQ Downtown 410 4th Av South 6:00 - 8:00 pm. and tomorrow 11:00-2:00 at The Local which is easy walking distance to the stadium

I went to a Vandy tailgate on campus once, and it felt like everyone was having breakfast in preparation for a cute mountain weekend

I saw post on one of the Mississippi State private facebook pages. Some guy invited anyone and everyone to tailgate near the stadium.


Also, years ago, when I went to games there. There was usually an alumni tailgate in that big parking lot, south west of the stadium.

Martin's is a great place. It's very easy to spend a few hours upstairs.

That’s a hike to Vanderbilt.

I usually eat @ SATCO before the game and walk through campus to the stadium....you can find free parking on the street (may have to park in front of scarritt bennett center)....usually more packed on a baseball day than football.
