Their picking the coach IMO...
that's even worse

absolute indictment of just how ****** our division (and conference) are

I beg everyone as week 1 nears to please not be surprised by the Ls the B1G takes during the non-con schedule, and to double please not forget them when league play starts

2023 might be the worst year for B1G football in quite a while, and that is saying something

toledo +9 @ illinois to kick off the season worth a good hard look

Iowa is the safe bet in the West, Wisconsin has the easiest schedule overall. Nebraska could win the West this year ( I don't think we will) but I also saw us outplay or beat every team in the West last year besides Illinois -- all with a WR as our head coach.

he seems to have a knack for finding daylight

don't have to be the fastest guy on the field to take kickoffs to the barn
Exactly, because once you get the angle, the defender is either backpedaling, or trying to change direction from a full sprint. Meanwhile, the kick returner is breaking ankles and pretty much coasting from the 50 yard line

Would be pretty cool to have a freshman that was reliable, to hold down that job for a few years. think DPE pre-injury.

Where there was a vicious heap of criticism? Examples of what was said?

I ask because I've been on this board for quite some time and while some posters (the non-trolls) don't share excitement with some recruits, I don't think I've ever seen a regular, non-troll member display a "vicious heap of criticism" on here.
It's far too long ago for me to remember the exact specifics but for Ganz as I recall some people were really ridiculing him as not being worthy of a P5 scholarship to any place let alone Nebraska. And Pork Chop was being hounded for being too fat and slow. It was the intensity of those negative comments by several posters that stick in my mind and yes those comments were being made by so-called Husker fans, not trolls from other teams.

P.S. That criticism was being made on the PAID board, not the free board.

I can’t stand the guy, but I have to admit that I respect the fact that his teams have an identity. In fact he used that identity to cuckold Bo Pelini and repeatedly skull fúcked our team into submission.
He took Barry’s playbook and followed it to a T. It’s not sexy, but it can get you eight or nine wins almost every year. It will never make you great though. Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota do not get great players, but they can get some pretty good ones and develop them.

We have to match up with them and take on their strength while being better at skilled positions in the passing game.

Speed sure helps if a crease opens. It will be pretty painful for me if he breaks in to the open and gets run down🥴. I have no idea what his 40 time is but kick returns are one play where it matters some.

I just want to see a returner break one into the open. Special teams have been putrid.

Honestly if that’s the worst that happens and we get a short field every now and then, I would take that. However I don’t see too many kickoffs getting an opportunity for a returns in todays world.

I ain't going to defend the Pork Chop comments on here too much, but I do believe he said he got sick of getting called fat. That is why he said he leaned up considerably late in his college career. Might have got him some NFL money.

Marcus Satterfield Press Conference Notes -new locker room is top of the line -OL is one of the hardest working and consistent groups -running the ball well -depth is good on OL (7-8 guys ready to go) -working on playing with great tempo -most players are used to the huddle from HS -Sims had a goal of increasing his completion percentage and reducing turnovers. He has done that -team is really healthy -Teddy Prochazka and Marcus Washington ARE BACK -Janiran Bonner is versatile, will be a big contributor -Anthony Grant can be one of the top RB’s in the conference, just needs to take care of the football -staff focuses on keeping guys healthy

We literally just need a guy to get us 10 yards. We dont need them taken to the house. Getting us ANYTHING will be an improvement.
