No I am saying the rules are created and posted and therefore need to be followed. I am not in a position to challenge Homeland Security in regards to why they create the rules they do.
I am also a NY Giants season ticket holder and they have pretty much the same rules and make you walk through a metal detector.
it lasted 3 or 4 years....started under Julie. This is the first year it stopped. I believe that some things came out of it but not a lot. From people I know that were on it a lot of ideas were presented and listened to but results were minimal. I was never invited to be on the committee so I honestly don't know any specifics other than the B1G flags going up came from the committee.
Since it's now down just to me and a friend (from the original 4 seats - Dad too old, kids not interested enough to come to all 7) we park over by the RAC or somewhere else now and treat the game more as a business trip and less an event.
You can bring binoculars and you can put them in you clear plastic bag or just hold them or hang them around your neck. But if you put them in a binocular bag, that counts as your small bag and must meet the dimensions requirements.
For what it's worth, here are the rules at Lincoln Financial Field in Philly, where the Eagles and Temple Owls play. These rules seem much stricter than those the Phillies follow at Citizens Bank Park. Perhaps football fans are thought to be rowdier than baseball fans.

Your point is well-taken! In addition, consider that baseball crowds are usually smaller than football crowds, and so screening pocketbooks and such is not as big a headache for the security folks.

p.s. Lincoln Financial Field started out with a jail, then gave it up after two years. The crowd there is much less rowdy than at Veteran Stadium with its 700 level.
It was poorly executed and, as you well know, not the least bit consistent with my (our) initial vision.
I'll be at Ben Hill Griffin tomorrow night and will report back on the entry process and security measures in place for handling 90,000+.
Their security will probably be more like Walmart greeters. No major terror attacks have happened in Gainesville.
My wife a few years ago finally admitted how much she hated going to the games. I dropped her from the tix and now we both have a much better game day experience.

MrScrew and I were not good at getting out of the house for 7am tailgates without us wanting to kill each other...and he almost never wants to stay until the end of the game and I always do. Now I go for 7am and he shows up when he shows up and leaves when he wants to leave. It's a much better day for both of us. #DrivingSeparateSavedOurMarriage

they were certainly terrorists, but I don't think their intention was suicide...although each ended in suicide. I was thinking more of terrorists wearing suicide vests....who know they are killing themselves and pull the cord or press the button on the cell phone when they are in a location they know they can create the most carnage.

I wasn't trying to bait you. I was interpreting what LadyRU wrote (which was a response to the previous comments that major terror attacks don't happen in Gainesville). There is certainly a possibility of some deranged person, like the Vegas shooter or a school shooter, looking to take out as many people as possible with the expectation that they will also be killed ... even if they don't have the political terror goals typically associated with terrorists.
But that is why I said it depends on how you define terrorist.

I think you are overreacting just a little. My comment was a joke. And definitely not about the south because I have southern roots as well.

anything that is on the list that is restricted (camera cases) or has a size restriction (wallets/clutches) still have to meet the requirements in or out of the clear bag.
clear bag can have a small fold wallet but not a large wallet and camera cases are still not allowed.
Yes they do, which is why I always opt for the small yield nuclear warhead. For personal protection, of course.
The point of the clear bag is to make bag searches faster ... since you can see what is in the bag. Putting a non-clear bag inside the clear bag defeats that purpose, since they can't easily see what is in the non-clear bag. They allow small clutch bags so that you can bring in things (like sanitary napkins, for example) that you may not want on display to the public. The small bags are still subject to search, but because they are small there is not a whole lot of risk with not searching them.
I for one am glad security seized one of the prior posters apples at the gate. Look at all the problems an apple caused for Adam and Eve.
