The good guys score 2 in the top of the first. Huge two out base hit from Kamren James - - he may be my guy for the next 3 years

Just your normal run of the mill scoreless 2 innings pitched for Certantola - 3 K's, 1 HBP, & 1 wild pitch

He’s had some tough luck though. 2nd inning was weak contact turning into hits.

Then looked like Allen could have got to that fly ball that turned into a triple to start the 4th.

Damn....get it, take your time and make a good throw. If you don’t get the guy at least you don’t put him in scoring position.

It happens. Hopefully we can come back, if not then oh well. Four more games next week to work on figuring things out.

I think the next AB would have been a double play. But, tough break for Foscue’s BA.

Looks like these guys want to get back in the plane and get back to Starkville. Pitiful effort today. Who scheduled a crap West coast trip anyway? Cohern? That is 3 more home games we could have had against a northern school.

This team looks nothing like what I expected. Expectations of a State sports team always provide some interesting results.

Don't matter. Until we get a coach that will coach, we will win some despite him and lose most because of him.

Nope. The problem is we are too consistent at Head Coach. Same guy this year as last. Everybody knows MSU must have a new head coach every year to get to a Super Regional.**** Just like everybody knows that with Geico, in 15 minutes, you can save 15% on car insurance.

It's pretty early in the season to get particularly emotional about a baseball team. We have a ton of talent and will almost certainly have a good season.

It’s not that Lemonis is some horrible coach, he is ok, but we are pushing to become an elite program and should be riding an incredible wave with our new stadium and electric atmosphere. We should have top 5 classes with a coach that draws those type of players. To be fair, we have some top 15 classes, but we needed to hire an elite coach, not a good one and I think we failed there. Don’t get mad because that’s just my opinion on the matter. We all know what options are like, so save your keystrokes. I hope he succeeds, but if we don’t have a national championship in the next 10 years, this hire has been a colossal failure. Unreal standard? Perhaps, but we have everything in our favor and if we can’t get it done we likely won’t in my lifetime. Again, just an opinion.

Or we just lost the SEC all time hits leader, all 3 weekend starters from a year ago, and one of the most clutch MSU hitters of all time all in one year. Nah, Lemonis just sucks.
And none of them have anything to do with the one's standing up there for the last 3 or 4 games, taking strike 3 and swinging at pitches in the dirt. We have some good hitters that are not hitting like it.

I’m not sure how you took one week where went 2-3 and arrived at the conclusion that the next 10 years might be a colossal failure.

I am more concerned about a possible a Tanner Allen injury than losing two games this weekend. It sounds like there’s a real chance he has a broken wrist.

Long Beach State won 14 games last year and we got beat by a 0-9 SWAC team...
Long Beach State was expected to be very good this year. Swept then-ranked Wake Forest. That SWAC loss wasn't great, but it's a mid-week vs a team that had several losses in games they scored a ton of runs.

lol I liked how you tried to put lipstick on that pig. That SWAC loss to an 0-9 Texas Southern was probably the worst loss in school history.

Engage in hyperbole much?

I clearly stated the SWAC loss wasn't great, but it is a fact it was a mid-week game vs our mid-week pitching, and TSU has lost 3 games where they scored 5 or more runs. 5 of those 9 losses coming in were @ OU & @ Wichita State, both solid baseball programs. You really need to chill out and let things play out a bit or you're gonna have an aneurysm.

Yeah, I think a lot of the frustration is residual from the Texas Southern game. In a bubble, losing 2/3 to a Top 25 team on the road really isn’t a big deal. I realize our hitting hasn’t been great, but I think people would be more patient with things had we taken care of business Tuesday.

I personally am like you, not really worried yet. Now it would probably be in our best interest to sweep a 1-8 Quinnipiac team this weekend considering they’ve been swept by UTSA and James Madison already. And the USM game is important just for boosting fan morale and also because it’s an in-state rival.

Losing 2 of our best hitters and having our best hitters up there protected by people like Pimentel has something to do with it for sure. We aren't playing well at all, especially offensively. Our team having one bad week of baseball in March doesn't mean our fanbase should go full retard regarding our head coach who just won more games than any head coach ever as a first year head coach in the SEC though. I'm not sure why I'm surprised. We have a bunch of people on here that played just enough baseball to make themselves look like idiots to everyone.
