That was an adventure but a good win. A couple of comments. Was the ump squeezing or were we just that bad? Next, Woodson gotta sit. He can start next year after he learns how to hit a breaking pitch. Teel might need to keep him company for a game or two.

Got what we had to have. Let’s go for the gravy tomorrow.

And unless I missed it, no Ben Davis update from BOC. We'll find out soon enough. But BD did leave the gave with an injury b/c Bauer had as long as he needed to warm up.
You missed it. Back tightness reported by oak.

That was a shitshow down the stretch on the mound and in the field, but flush it and get better. That was a huge win. Love to win the series tomorrow, but getting one is completely acceptable and was vital.

Huge at bat from Milewski to knock in that go ahead run and clear the decks for Wyers to be a hero. Lew is unequivocally our catcher and its really good to see him starting to find his stroke.

Weyers just cemented SS I have to think. We need Woodson to stay engaged and get better for the future, but I think Weyers has to be the guy now. Great game.

Good to see Chance back driving balls through holes.

Duke with a great start. Crucial.

Really be nice to see CF figure it out and help us tomorrow.

There is a small group of smart-*** Texas rich kids sitting to the left of the pitcher. They were real ******** Friday night. They left the game after the eighth inning. I am so glad we shut them up. Hail State!!
Oil can Harry must have had an early bird special

Do we have any pitching left besides the starter for tomorrow’s nationally televised game?

Sweeney, Pitzer, Billingsley (yikes). Other guys we've seen with some gas left. It'll be all hands and we'll figure out Nicholls on Tuesday later.

I don't think Texas is real deep in quality out of their bullpen since we saw Burns again today and roughed him up. Need to come out of the gates tomorrow.

A lot of them do that. They should have to line up in the middle of the plate not off one shoulder or the other of catcher
Actually that used to be the difference between the American and National Leagues. The AL Umps used a giant blowup cushion that hid their whole body with just their head showing. They stood taller and had their head directly over the catchers head. They tended to call higher strikes. The NL Umps did like today with the flexible chest protector and lined up on the inside side of the catchers head. And tended to not see the outside of the plate as well.

This may be an unpopular take, but it will explain why, outside of being blessed with little natural athletic ability, I was never great in team sports.

Watching a video like that, I know I'm seeing the fire that is common in many great coaches, but what I mainly think is "this guy's got some real emotional issues he needs to get fixed". Those kinds of outbursts never motivated me.

But, aside from that, Augie Garrido remains one of the great names in all of sports history.

I remember those days.
