I have never heard of UFCU Disch-Falk Field, but it sounds lovely. Good ol UFCUDFF. The name just rolls off the tongue.

What's truly lovely is the stories about Clark Field, long time home of the Longhorns before Disch Falk. Here's a snippet and a link to the Wikipedia page...

"Clark Field was unusual because there was a 12- to 30-foot (9.1 m) limestone cliff that ran from left-center to center field that made playing the outfield adventurous. The cliff could only be accessed via a goat path in the left-center field. Center field was nicknamed "Billy Goat Hill."[2] There was a scoreboard on top of the hill in the field in front of the fence that could cause even more weird bounces for outfielders. Clearly, this gave the Longhorns a home field advantage over visiting teams. For example, the Longhorns could easily get an inside-the-park home run when a ball was hit in the direction of the cliff because the opposing outfielders were perplexed by its caroms and how to make plays by using the cliff. Longhorn outfielders could typically hold batters to a double or triple because of their familiarity with the cliff. Half of the team's outfielders purportedly chose to play on top while the other half chose to play in front of the cliff."

Fast Forward to 8:20 mark. Schloss says State the most complete team they will face and “It’s not close”

That's just stupid that the area above the first cliff was in play.

One of my unc friends at the gym is a giant aTm fan and hears rumors from Austin that Schloss has been having major locker room issues. One of the players called him out in the locker room in a big blowup after a loss. Rumors are still encouraged last time I checked.

When you have been the HC at TCU/TAMU/TX … I can’t imagine he keeps a Solid Foundation

Rain looks to be out of the area by then too. They are an all turf field so according to Grandslam rules - play ball!!
It'll probably still be raining well into the game. Cold and wet.

But there hasn't been a lot of lightning. Just slowly drenching cold rain.

There were rumors about him getting mixed up with coeds when he was hired at Texas. His lack of compass combined with NIL bag grabbing culture is catching up to him.

To say the aTm fans loathe him is a gross understatement.

He just gives off some POS vibes for me. I really like our HC better.

I kinda love watching him beg fans of one of the biggest schools in the country with an incredible baseball tradition, to actually show up for the biggest home series of the year.

I have No Doubt; and, would rarely see their side, but I absolutely get it.

Looks like radar showing it out of the area, before 7.
Mine anyway.
I'm probably 25 miles from there west, but it's trending to the east. It's not thunderstorms. It's just a layer of clouds and cold, soft rain. Rained harder last night. But I don't see anything clearing this any time soon.

It's raining steadily right now. It sucks. There's no worse combo than cold rain. And I think it's getting into the upper 40s. Quick warmup tomorrow, though. I was hoping they'd play two in the sun.

7:30 Radar forecast for Austin
From your phone to God's ears. But I'm looking through my north window now, and there's zero blue on the horizon. That's where the clear air will emerge.

It's not moving fast. It's just a cloud layer dropping something between steady sprinkling and rain. Puddles everywhere. Pattering my roof now. Currently 54 with a real feel of 44. Getting colder.

They're going to be cold and wet at least halfway through the game. Accuweather for me doesn't show the precipitation chances start dropping until like 10pm. Dry air maybe around 2am.

At least they're all young without joints affected by the weather. My knee's been aching for two days.

I'm in NW Austin, the sun popped out here about 20 mins ago but it's cloudy again. Still damp and cold.
On a different note, I looked for tickets last week and all their sec games are sold out, and seatgeek are aroung $90. Similar for aTm. Gen admin is cheaper at aTm but you need an account to get them.
This sucks. If anybody knows a better way, I'm all ears.

What was Ace swinging at? That ball bounced a foot in front of the plate.

They seem to be playing pretty well for a team with major locker room issues.

The announcer made a comment the bugs the crap out of me. He said Volantis variety of pitches keeps the batters guessing. That is where I find the biggest issues with college batters. “Guessing”. I would rather in the early innings they take a lot of pitches even if they take called strikes because it gives them the opportunity to gauge movement and breaking stuff out of the zone.

Why did the Texas announcer refer to the Texas campus as the "Forty Acres"?

Because 40 acres is the amount of land originally set aside for the UT campus
I thought it was because all their graduates feel entitled to 40 acres after learning about all the injustice in America
