...well, duh. So what's the problem? ...wanting to partake in the spoils of the very thing you are responsible for building? He literally wanted to finish the job. Awesome. He coulda just bolted on the spot..... and i'm betting you would have had a problem with that too, rigjt?
1) Yes, I have a problem with him taking a parallel job while his current team is still playing for the chance of a National Championship.

2) Since he accepted a new job, yes, I have a problem with him wanting to continue to coach his current team IF his current players no longer want him there. Which is the case.

3) Since he accepted a new job, no, I dont have a problem bolting to his new gig. In fact I would encourage it. GTFO traitor.

You would see no problem if Kiffin (or any Head Coach) got Nebraska to the playoffs, took another Big10 job & left before the playoff games, and wanted to stick around to coach? You would encourage him to stick around and coach throughout the playoffs even though he'd be leaving?

EDIT: I came off condescending in my first sentence. It was unnecessary so I removed.

"...I want to stay and help finish what we started..."

"No"

Does not equate to quitting. At all.

..and you've no idea how the games would have played out if he had stayed. None. You want what you typed to be the case, but we have no idea what would have happened.

Dude gave 6 years, built a natty contendor, wanted to finish the job... that is the text book definition of a stand up move.
He wanted to finish the job for selfish reasons.

Which is fine, but dont act all surprised when others are saying, "F- you Lane".

You seemed shocked by that sentiment.

He turned his departure from Ole Miss into a circus. Coaching changes don't have to come with all that drama and baggage.
Its the system we have. He took advantage of that system. Is it a good system? No, but if he was coming to Nebraska no one would be complaining here.

No one would complain, but I would think they'd totally agree with Ole Miss point of view & not try to justify it.

Also, if this happened to Nebraska (coach leaving while in the playoffs) we'd be super ticked.
