Not a bad idea from this ex RU AD , fairness value, in my opinion<
> In the Pernetti Plan, the five G6 champions not selected for the CFP would compete for their own championship (and presumably the runner-up to the champ that made the CFP, no doubt the American champ in Pernetti's mind). This would allow the Group of 6 to have its cake and eat it too. Pernetti even pitched a schedule, with the semifinals on the Tuesday and Wednesday before the CFP semifinals in the second week in January.

The College Football version of the old NIT.
Looks that way , but for the G-6 it might be a way to get more college football fans become untreated in watching regular season G-6 games on TV , if the G-6 playoff system puts out some real good games..
As it is now minor bowls don't get enough PR to promote the produce, whereas maybe the playoffs will get the major sports media talking heads talking about them and give the playoffs the type of exposure needed to make college football fans want to see them.
Also makes the post season more meaning full for the tears and their fanbases being a playoff environment.
