My guess is they want additional ticket revenue/butts in seats and not all schools have big enough facilities to accommodate that.I'm glad to hear we are ditching the point formula system for seeding.
I wonder what the reasons are for moving the B1G Championships to a neutral site? Hopefully they at least change up where the "neutral site" is each year and don't go to a format where it's the same "neutral site" location each year like the Big 12.

Where in Des Moines?Bring it to Des Moines!
With the inventors of college wrestling in PA, there's no way a PA venue is not on the short list.Pinnacle bank arena in Lincoln a few years back was nice I thought. Keeps it close to Iowa also.
Boys āBasketballā.Hope they avoid Chicago and Indy. They already host bball tourneys.
Wish Des Moines was an option. I know the boys tourney is going to Ames for 5 years. Maybe girls would move too?
Yep, and wait until you see the ticket prices.Eventually the powers ruin all the good things. On campus tournaments are part of what made this sport great and a reason to travel. Now it will be at some. Lifeless venue
I went to Maryland, it was a three hour drive. I'll go to PSU, Rutgers or Maryland. Otherwise I'm not attending. You start adding in plane tickets and more time off work and you're making it a much more expensive trip.Nobody wants to go to Maryland or Purdue or MSU (especially MSU) but it has been on campus for as long as I can remember.
Would be a shame to lose that unique aspect of the event.
Where you ask? Same place NCAA tournament was held a few years ago. That Des Moines.Where in Des Moines?
They have state basketball usually going on around that time.
You mean in mid-late March vs.the first weekend of March?Where you ask? Same place NCAA tournament was held a few years ago. That Des Moines.

So do Columbus, Cleveland and Pittsburgh, don't they? Tired of a B-Ball town hosting wrestling. The Big Ten loves Indy. Iād be surprised if itās a different location. It checks all the boxes.
The girls basketball tournment is the week before the boys.
Location, location and location. So do Columbus, Cleveland and Pittsburgh, don't they? Tired of a B-Ball town hosting wrestling.
Rather see Omaha, Des Moines, Minny, or Madison.
The truth is that almost any city grants a home mat advantage. Somehow, we will we get screwed.
Iād take St. Louis all day and twice on Sunday. I am not sure what weekend the MVC B-ball tournament is? I think it played in St. Louis?Probably KC.
Yeah, it usually goes hs state wrestling, aau state, girls state (same weekend as b10) and boys bb on consecutive weekends in dsm.Nailed it. Good call. This is the issue. The boys tourney is NO issue as that tourney is moving to Ames.
KC hosting nationals was great.....plenty of bars and restaurants literally across the street.I really hate to see it leave campuses, but it will probably be better for hotel/motel choices than some campuses offer. I enjoy seeing all the schools, and the food/drink choices the students use.
That being said, I'm down with KC, Omaha, or, I guess, St.Louis. After 5 or 6 trips there for NCAAs I'm getting tired of there, but it has many good aspects. Unlike most on the old board, I loved the NCAA in Omaha, maybe because I knew of lots of places to go there. I missed the last trip to KC, so I hope the place there wasn't as isolated as the previous one. I'm pretty sure Indy will end up on the list, and I could live with that, but it wouldn't be my favorite. Des Moines arena is smaller than half of the B1G arenas, so it's not likely to make the list. Stay out of Minny and Chi-town at all costs. I missed the last Detroit one too, so I don't know how that went. The previous Detroit one was OK as long as you don't have to pay for parking each session, because there's not a lot within walking distance in Auburn Hills. Besides, almost every time I go to Michigan in March, there's a blizzard that makes driving suck (well, 4 out of 7 anyway).
To me it doesn't make sense to have the Big 10 tournament in Kansas City.KC was great, they moved it out of the old Kemper Arena that had nothing around it. The Power and Light District around the newer T-Mobile Arena is really a great spot.
Well, the way things are now you could see Missouri, Kansas, etc. in the Big Ten shortly, so who knows. To me it doesn't make sense to have the Big 10 tournament in Kansas City.
I would think they would at least try to support an area the has a Big 10 team.
The Detroit location moved downtown to the Little Caesarās arena and was much better than isolated Auburn Hills next to the dump.I really hate to see it leave campuses, but it will probably be better for hotel/motel choices than some campuses offer. I enjoy seeing all the schools, and the food/drink choices the students use.
