Lack of execution on fundamentals is a coaching problem
Yes. All the blocking in the back penalties is a lack of fundamentals. Players are getting themselves out of position and then have to recover by doing something stupid. That is why they are penalties.

Nope. Saban, Urban, (insert whoever you think the best coach is), couldn’t fix what we have currently. You have to have dudes and those dudes have to be able to learn, and the want to. We don’t have enough of those dudes. Until this changes expect more losses.
And those good teams have good fundamentals we don't. Coaching

We've had basically the same type of talent over the past three coaching staffs. And we've had only one winning season. That points to a talent issue to me.
Points to hiring the wrong coaches to me. I'm not saying we don't need more talent, but we just got out coached again. Our coaching problem is bigger

Just look at our running backs for an example. Would any of them start for another BIG team? I doubt it.

We don’t have a RB who would make the top 2-3 on any big10 depth chart. EJ is our best and Minnesota didn’t give him the time of day despite him being in their backyard. That should have been a major red flag..the gophers know how to spot good RBs…

Most of our running backs struggle to see a cutback hole/lane…they have tunnel vision. Of course there has to be a cutback lane to see.
Whose fault is that, coaches. Whose at fault for looking unprepared and not being put in position to succeed, coaches. I can go on

This and Illinois losses are on the coaches, it just hard to understand especially the Illinois game that the defense had no fire , you throw in terrible special teams, we make a afield goal in regulation we beat Illinois but for some reason we only have one kicker who got hurt in the off season I remember a time When we’d have two or three kickers I guess not anymore

We aren't fast enough at LB and S. Gifford seemed like a better player last year. But whatever the cause, I would get creative and consider moving Hill to safety to get more speed at that position.

A talent problem. Indiana’s 3rd/4th String Offense/RB just ran into the end zone untouched.

We need more tough guys and none of this they/them nonsense!
That's the thing. There is 0% chance Indianas 3rd team is better than our 1st. Yet they play better. Today was CLEAR AS DAY THAT ITS A COACHING PROBLEM.

I think the new DB coach is a step back from what we previously had. I agree Gifford, Singleton, and Hartzog have gotten worse from last year.

100%!! Kids don’t want to come here. High end athletes are not coming to the cold to catch balls. Our only hope would be to run the ball and get them juiced boys back. It ain’t happening though. Mediocrity and a 8 or 9 win season every 15 years is our norm.

They have no issue going to OSU. Just having Dylan is an incentive. But we have got to start being physically dominant over the opposition and right now we just aren't. We will never be a top program unless our athletes are NFL draft quality.

I actually see coverage is pretty good. But they can't tackle in 1-1 situations. Watching some of the highlights again the missed tackles are just glaring. What should have been a short or no gain is a monster play because a guy failed to make a play.

We lack talent on both sides of the ball. And Rhule didn’t help himself in recruiting by failing to make a bowl game last year. The hole will get even harder to get out of if he has another losing season this year.
