So you're saying we should pump the brakes on Dreshaun Ross hype?
As I've said, I don't get the Ross hype. He's no Steveson and Steveson didn't win it as a freshman. I don't even think he's a good of a prospect as Kerklviet was.

I think Merrill is going to finish higher as a freshman.

But regardless, I think we can all agree that Iowa is becoming irrelevant as a wrestling state.

If that continues, and the Hawks also continue to struggle recruiting out of state elite recruits it begs the question: how many more years until Iowa becomes a wrestle through dual meet?

🤔🤷‍♂️ I'm a fan of the fat Electrician and his Podcasts. He was talking about Iowa wrestling and how great high school Iowa wrestling was so some men in the comments pulled out the per capita thing I mentioned that doesn't matter so I was interested in how long it has been since an Iowa resident went to college and won a national championship.

Grok said 2017 and it was wrong. It was 2019. So it's basically six years. Pennsylvania has had a resident with an NCA national championship. Going back to 2016, they didn't have any win in 2015.

It was busting balls in YouTube comments. 😎

Isn't it already?
In all seriousness, last season they had 3 duals they did not wrestle through. Wyoming due to the elevation, and OSU and Iowa.
I keep waiting for the enjoyment of slobber knocking Ryan's and Brands' teams to wear off and just wrestle through them as well.

Fun fact - nobody from Iowa has ever won the Miss America title. It's not really funny but when you hear it you think, "Yeah, that makes sense".
My buddy attended the university of Iowa for his Post graduate work. He went that summer to some kind of town festival that was celebrating the birthday of James T Kirk. I guess this was allegedly the small town he grew up in in Iowa?
There was a local beauty pageant winner working with the food stamps, and she had a sash that said pork queen.

Just watched "Queen of Meth" on Hulu. It's about Tom's Arnold's sister and her rise as a drug kingpin. They are from a small town in Iowa and the impression that you get from the movie is exactly what you would expect about people in Iowa. It was a very interesting program.
