Guess OP doesn’t like them because they are being forced to make ventilators...even though they were in negotiations anyway.

I will never buy one again!
Been a loyal GM customer since ‘98. Owned 5 previous GM’s and have one now. Very disappointed they are not full filling the promises they made. Depending on the outcome of this, my next two vehicles will be Fords.

2019 Ram 1500 owner here ...

Last I checked Ram does not make ventilators ... but I bet they make a mean toaster.

Have a 2014 Ram 1500. I tend to run stuff until it dies. It starts up every time, has given me zero problems, and hauls whatever I have thrown on my 6x12 trailer. It only cost about 8G less than its GM counterpart.

why on God's green Earth would people be mad about a company making ventilators? If anything, you would think it'd be opposite. Cheering them on, celebrating them, embracing them on trying to make critical medical machines that can save lives. Very confusing.

The one sided story states that GM agreed to 40,000 at x price but now GM can only do 6,000 but can do more if the price goes up.

We know you are a flaming liberal but can you give up the hate for just a few minute please. I actually like your BB updates but please let your hate go for a minute.
Do you want to hear GMs side of the story or are you good with what has been reported?

Doesn't matter how many they make, would end up recalling 70% after the first month anyways.

I'm good with let's just get thru this. We can go back to the BS politics after ........ BTW none of this is GM's fault they didn't ask for this. WE all didn't

Oh, so they are pissed at GM for only doing it to make money and not help people? That makes a lot more sense. Thanks for the clarity

Why not admonish the OP? It's a political thread to begin with.

I owned GM cars for about 25 years. The first 23 years I had no complaints. The I bought a brand new Buick with 12 miles on the odometer, and in 2 years I replaced the water pump, transmission, freeze plugs (yes, you read that right), various engine parts and finally replaced the engine with a rebuilt one and sold it the same day.

Next day, I bought a Toyota sedan, drove it for 400,000 miles and have bought two Toyota trucks since then. I've put over 500,000 miles on those trucks combined, and the only problem I've with with any of them was clutch in the gear shift of the sedan. Toyota fixed that for free in about an hour.

Oh yeah, they all tended to run out of gas once in a while. I can't imagine buying anything else ever again.

I ran my 2007 Toyota Tacoma until 2019 and put 238,000 miles on it.

I was a fairly strict Ford guy until I bought a friends Buick to get her out of trouble and sold it in less than 6 months of ownership. I bought a Miata about 6 years ago and since then a Explorer(used for the winter) and since then I sold the Miata to get rid of the manual top(best fun driver car ever had) for a Mercedes SLK320 and now a Subaru for the winters. Would still buy a Ford, but doubt I find a convertible as cool as my MB.

As far as I’m concerned GM quit making cars when vent windows and chrome bumpers disappeared

but its time to put politics to the side and "get'er done". GM and the Gov of Michigan are just kind of a bummer right now. Move on....lets solve this problem....people need to keep their eye on the ball. The flu is our problem not one another.

didn’t we the people give the auto industry a bailout in 2008 for 80 bill? Think the auto industry owes one

Why are we not forcing the production act on BMW, Mercedes, Honda and Toyota manufacture cars here? Before you say ‘Merica First, we are bailing out the cruise ship industry like Carnival and they are not an American company.

I think the auto industry was the only bailout in 08 where the government actually lost money. The much bitched about banking bailout, resulted in the government getting all of their money back plus additional billions.

I got a new GMC Sierra and it seems to be a really nice truck. The tailgates are sweet.
Bought a GMC Acadia about 8 years ago. It seemed like a really nice auto for about 2 1/2 years and then everything started going wrong with it. Mechanic told me to get rid of it; said they were always in his shop. My wife had wanted it but wasn’t hard convincing her to go back to Toyota. She loves her Highlander that is 5+ years old with 120k+miles. I got 280k miles out of my last Camry, nearly issue free.

I can't help but to think that you'd get a much superior product out of Mercedes. My wife and I own a Mercedes E350 and a Cadillac Escalade.

Both have great "curb appeal." They each serve a different role for us as well, but my wife opts for the chrome-slathered Escalade with its near-obnoxious presence. The Russian gypsy in her gravitates toward "big and sparkly."

However, when you're behind the wheel of each vehicle – two different experiences. The engineering, drivability and virtually every fine detail is far superior in the Mercedes. To that point, Mercedes-Benz blows every other vehicle I've ever driven out of the water, and it's not very close.

I've had 2 Mercedes-Benz vehicles to this point, and zero issues with either of them.

Two sides to every story, here's yours:

"We know you are a flaming Neo-Con but can you give up the hateful indignation for just a few minutes please. You're not always right just because of your sanctimonious selfishness and singlemidedness"

See that!

Wife's got the E350 Cab and I drive the Mazda CX5. It may be the best mid-size SUV I've ever had, just does everything right.

Always been a GM guy, but the last.one I owned was a 2001 Buick Rendezvous AWD. That thing rode great, handled great and the auto awd worked flawlessly. Was still going strong at 170k when some lady tboned me and totalled it. Nissan Murano replacement was POS.

I was always a GM guy.. Had a Pontiac Ventura, Olds Cutlass, Buick Regal, Buick Skyhawk, and a Buick Century. They would usually be good for 120,000-150,000 miles without engine or transmission issues, but a lot of stupid small stuff. The gas level sensor went out on the Century and the heating system blower controller dial stopped working on the Medium setting. Water pumps, alternators, etc.

Wife bought a Toyota RAV4 and never had any problems, so I bought one and had it for 200,000 miles. Nothing at all except a battery replacement. Traded it in for a Highlander to handle visits from my son and his family from England.

I won't go back to a GM.
