I remember in 1999 Bobby Bowden campaign against Nebraska with one loss in favor of unbeaten West Virginia for them to play in the championship game and of course he got the weaker opponent in West Virginia, a lot of people felt Nebraska was the best team in the nation at the end of the season

I remember in 1999 Bobby Bowden campaign against Nebraska with one loss in favor of unbeaten West Virginia for them to play in the championship game and of course he got the weaker opponent in West Virginia, a lot of people felt Nebraska was the best team in the nation at the end of the season

West Virginia was unbeaten due to the fact that the Big East was really weak that year.

West Virginia was unbeaten due to the fact that the Big East was really weak that year.

Virginia Tech, not West Virginia, and they were unbeaten largely due to their QB - Michael Vick.

Nebraska may have been the better team, but the BCS got it right that year. The two unbeaten teams deserved to play for the title.
