On another note: Is he the one who turned the lights out after he left. 
It means Norvell is being fired and they didn't want Alford making the next hire.

I've been expecting this so a move could be made because donors/fans have had enough.
If he ain't willin' he gone. Or as stated, they want someone else to do the hiring.

They may take a look at Briles. He was there before but was fired by Norvell to bring in Dillingham.
So what are the betting odds for the following ?
After Bama 9/19
After UVA. 10/3
After L'ville. 10/9
After Miami. 10/17. (this is my guess, by this time FSU would be 2-5)
Guess it just depends on how ugly things get. That they fired the AD tells me the decision is made, so it does just boil down to timing. Typically, I guess, they try to make these kinds of move when there is a bye week. A very bad loss to Bama could force their hand.
Edit: I see they have a bye after Miami, so assuming an epic beat down there, combined with the bye, that makes sense.

Agreed. Man, its really surprising how far they have fallen. Their next HC hire really has to be a big spend home run, We dont have anyone right now that qualifies.
Also, I was watching their game vs FSU and they've done some odd stuff with the mountains of cash they have spent on their stadium. The visitors bench side just looks weird and so much open, unused space. Now the upper part of their endzone looks like table seating. Just bizarre and that's on the AD,
If Lebby continues the MSU turnaround and the QB Taylor has a breakout year, it wouldn't surprise me to see Lebby to FSU, bringing Taylor with him.

They got rid of their Tanner.
Main problem I can see is that Cignetti already makes $13.2 million at IU. FSU is cash strapped, which is the only reason they've held onto Norvell as long as they have. Norvell's salary is about $10 million, and they'd likely have to pay Cig $15 million or more per year. Not sure I can see them coming up with that kind of dough on top of Norvell's buyout.
If i was an AD in need of an important hire, cant see how I would go after Cignetti for two reasons.........1)his age (would probably be looking for someone younger and 2) he is already one of the highest paid coaches in college sports.
FSU has a geographic problem most people don't know about. Tallahassee is a long ways from where the majority of FSU alumni live. There really aren't any large metro areas within a 3 hour drive of Tallahassee. Tallahassee is the state capitol, but it is really in the middle of nowhere. Jacksonville is about 2 1/2 hours away, but Jacksonville isn't a real hotbed of FSU fans. UF and UGA have more fans in Jacksonville than FSU. Within a three hour driving radius of Tallahassee, you are in South Georgia, South Alabama and the very rural part of North Florida.
FSU used to pull a fair number of South Georgia and South Alabama fans, but they weren't the donor types, they were simply rural people who lived closer to FSU than to UGA, Bama or Auburn. FSU alumni and donors have to move a good distance away from Tallahassee to get high paying jobs. Unfortunately for FSU, the "out of sight, out of mind" principle comes into play.
When Daddy Bowden was there and cheating was inexpensive, FSU could pull top recruits out of Georgia and Alabama with relatively little cash out of pocket. That tactic doesn't work today.

Some schools hold AD's accountable for crap hires. Some keep them on the lifetime payroll.
Dabo and Norvell both have pretty much the same buyout - maybe they should just do an even swap?
Seems like a stretch. A serious candidate should be Jeff Brohm. Excellent reputation, extremely innovative on the offensive side of the ball.
Always does more with less. He is at his Alma Mater, so it might take a lot of persuasion (more than just extra $$$) to make him leave.
Saw a YouTube video recently of why the state capitol is in Tallahassee. Being the state capitol certainly played a role into why F$U & Florida A&M are in Tallahassee.
When Florida became a US territory in 1819, there were but two pockets of European civilization in the territory: Pensacola and St. Augustine. Tallahassee was created as the midway point between the two to serve as the territorial capital. There was an attempt to move the capitol to the peninsula (perhaps near Ocala) about 60 years ago, but that got nowhere.
Atlanta is about a 4-4½ hour drive away, and New Orleans is about a 6 hour drive away. Dawg fans outnumber Jacket fans in Atl, and NOLA is Bayou Bengal country.
IMO, that stands as much a chance of happening as the SEC kicking out LSU.FSU just fired their AD - Will this affect us?

I thought this was going to be about FSU stealing Donati away from us since they still have a football coach and they fired their AD.
Can FSU really afford Norvell's buyout, especially if the intent is to replace him with a "big money" hire? I'm not sure FSU has the financial chops to pull that off. Isn't their athletic department carrying more debt than any other P4 program right now? And, historically, they do generate the kind of revenue of, say, Florida.
