FSU fires Taggart

Bob Stoops is the #1 target by a lot the other two are just in case he says no. They will go all out to get him.
Looks like Bob Stoops is close to happening. Ironic I just mentioned in one of these threads when's the last time you've seen HCIW and looks like that might happen here with Kendal Briles....Stoops likes him and wants to keep him around and Leavitt as DC....he's currently an analyst IIRC.

Well if it happens ...it's a lot easier when you have the money to throw around they seem to have. 17M for Taggart and a couple million more for the staff and then stuff out there (don't know if they're true) that Stoops will get a 5 year 40M dollar deal. Facilitates getting things done with those kind of numbers if they're true.
Despite all that money in salary sounds like FSU is behind the blue bloods in facilities..saw this in an article the Athletic yesterday.

Clemson has a state-of-the-art football building with a putt-putt course and a slide, while FSU still lacks a standalone football facility. For a long time, the Seminoles won without the bells and whistles of other programs, something Fisher was vocal about. Now they’re playing catch-up. In 2018, FSU announced plans for a standalone facility, but the money still has to be raised for it. As fate would have it, Taggart donated $1 million to the project, but booster money that could be used for the facility will now make its way to his buyout. FSU wants to open the building by 2021. Until then, FSU will still be without the toys that Clemson, Alabama and others can tout
Actually thinking about it raising the 20M for Taggart might have been facilitated if they knew Stoops was a real possibility before they let Taggart go.
Damn, I guess we can cross off Stoops from our list, so we're left with Meyer or Schiano...
Mandel seems to be writing off those rumored reports last night. Haven't seen any other of the national sports guys pick it up yet either.
No way in hell they do that without a handshake deal already in place for Stoops.
It makes sense.
Definitely plausible but still none of the national guys like Feldman/Thamel/McMurphy etc.. reporting about it yet so still wonder until you see that.
This is why I wouldn't say it's done yet until I see one of the national guys come out with it. It might get done but who knows.
