Thanks.. my bad... wiki listed seasons like 2010-2013 and I just subtracted

I suppose the Ty Willingham thing always stuck in my head.. but I suppose he failed at other spots. As you know, I don't usual go in for the "race card thing".. I just think there's a particular point where sports is concerned. I mean, in general, the USA is about 12% black.. but in FBS college football.. what is it.. 40%? 50%? more? I think at some point the coaching ranks should reflect that.
Get me Shaw from Stanford!

Looks like if your are a school's first black coach (they had an interim black coach for 2 games and a season before Taggart.. you have a short leash)

I remember Notre Dame tossed aside Tyrone Willingham in 2 years

Kevin Sumlin got 5 years at A&M and did okay.. but got booted...

Charlie Strong.. 3 years at Louisville, 2 at Texas..

I am sure there are other examples..

Eh.. I suppose everyone is on a short leash these days... We wanted Ash gone in 2 or 3. Maybe these programs have a better way of identifying when things are not going the right direction and have the resources to make a change quickly.
What utter ********! Sumlin got canned at A&M because he could not win in the SEC west, feasted on crappy competition and was close to 0-fer in November...he got a stupid extension and A&M made him a wealthy man. He now sucks at Arizona...he mismanaged and drove away two 5* QBs who are now starters in the NFL...had it not been for Johnny manziel, he would have been exposed far sooner...

think before pulling out the unnecessary and stupid race card!

are you saying that there should be only 12% black players to reflect that? ? duh!

Why not?
Took a WKU that was 2-10, 0-12 in 2008 and 2009 to 7-5 in his second year.

Took USF from 3-9 from Skip Holz, had them at 8-5 in year 3 and 10-2 in year 4.

Took Oregon which Mark Helfrich cratered to 4-8 to 7-5 in his first year.

Jimbo Fisher peaked at FSU and left them broken. 3 of their losses this year were by a margin of a TD or less. FSU's loss could be RU's gain!!!

Not sure if serious but Jimbo Fisher did leave FSU in shambles, especially on the OL. He knew he was leaving and his recruiting the last few years showed it. The next HC was looking at a rebuild, although FSU fans don’t like to admit that. Surprised that FSU canned him during the season. Heard that Willie walks away w 18M in severance pay. What a great country we live in!

I’m not a Willie fan and actually bet the Under on 7.5 wins for FSU this season when I was in NV for golf recently. Very costly buyout for FSU but they are serious about FB there and won’t settle for 7-5 from any HC.

FSU is a very attractive HC job and this may lead to some movement among HC candidates. Willies resume is pretty strong and should be in the mix for us.

The buzz I'm hearing amounts to a coordinated, high-level Rutgers’ booster-led takedown of Taggart. It’s finally going down.

Anyone see that Garutti tweet? The truth is out there.

Did FSU spend more than ~$55-60 million to get rid of Taggart after 1.5 years. ($30 million to buy out Taggart. $20 million for his staff, plus $ 6-8 million to complete his buyout from Oregon)? They will then need to spend another $60 + million for the next coach. How does a place like FSU get so much money to throw around for football?

Here’s my theory, if you can’t win in the ACC at FSU, you sure as hell cant win at RU

FSU is bringing a truck full of money to Happy Valley. I’m talking 8 to 9 million a year for Mr. Franklin and it’s going to force State to pay. Let’s see how much they willing to live in this stratosphere.

Franklin and Fleck seem to now be in the smoke at USC with Helton dead man walking. If Urban isn’t their guy, PSU and Minny may need to up the paychecks.

Do Durkin and/or Canada show up as legit names over the next few weeks for these jobs? Canada at RU thoughts? Too soon for Durkin anywhere?

Never brought race into this.

You are a desperate soul. Good luck.
I started the thread on Norvell , I said I’d do cartwheels over Clawson.
I’m the one who dispelled the rumor this wasn’t a full search.
I don’t think Taggart fits, you quoted me and called me a Schiano zeolot,

You’re also a known hit and run poster who never responds when proven wrong

Durkin’s not getting picked by anyone for at least another year and he definitely won’t fet looked at for FSU.

FSU will spend what it takes and go after the best available.
Know this idea is far fetched , especially with the Taggert connection, but wonder if they will reach out to Mario C's agent and inquire if he'd like to be a Floridian again.

I think that FSU aims high with their next HC. Almost everyone in CFB and NFL is on the table. Check out the list of expected candidates to replace Willie. Pretty impressive.

As RU fans we’d kill to have just a few of these names on our list.

I would think Norvell or Clawson could be in play here. Might be a little sensitive for Clawson since would be an in conference move.

Dude. I watched plenty of FSU football and Taggart’s post game interviews. It was a train wreck

Were press conferences as bad as Ash’s?

RU could only wish to be as bad as his West Kentucky, USF, Oregon and FSU teams; and I’m a “want Schiano hired yesterday” RU alum and supporter.

Bottom line: the tolerance for Taggart was super low and football win standards are super high at FSU. Guy got super paid in a short period of time and FSU moves on.
