First, congrats on winning the SEC Tournament, no small feat. Your team is playing extremely well and
at the best time. I’ve always respected your program and passionate college
baseball fans. Hoping for a good series. I think you’ll find that our baseball
following is very knowledgeable and respectful for the most part. Like all
teams, we all have our “bad apples”. I also think you’ll find that playing in
Dick Howser Stadium is a great atmosphere for college baseball.

If you plan to travel to Tallahassee for the games, here are a few
recommendations:

Hotels: Hotel Duval, Aloft, Double Tree and the Marriott off of
Gaines Street- In that order. All hotels are in walking distance to downtown
and a minute’s drive to the stadium.

Food: Marie Livingston’s and Shulas
(in hotel Duval) are the best steak places in town IMO). Best sushi would be
MASA. Best Italian would be Bella Bella. Other great places to eat in town would
be: Kool Beanz (midtown), Avenue (downtown), Andrews (downtown), Piggy’s or Jim
and Milts for BBQ, Mockingbird, Bagel Bagel, Mosaic, Cypress etc…

Night
life: If you want the college scene (remember the students are out of town for
the summer ? which also stinks because many students won’t be at this coming
weekends games), head to Tennessee Street ? AJ sports bar is the best sports bar
in town. Other bars on Tennessee Street: Y’ianni’s, Bullwinkle’s, Kens,
in-between, etc. or Pot Bellys just up the street. If you want the post 23 and
up crowd, definitely head to midtown. Bars are all in walking distances to one
another with shops and restaurants. For downtown bars, head to One-O-One, Level
8 (roof top bar at Hotel Duval), Clydes and Andrews.

Also, as a heads up
for the fans who do not know this tradition, our fans sing O’Canada in the
bottom half of the 5th inning each game. This is a tradition, not anti-American.
I’m sure it is very strange seeing for the first time. There’s a story behind
it, there are many different versions, but the most accurate can be found by
going to www.sectionb.com. You will also become very familiar with the “Fans of
section B” who lead the fans in 99% of cheers etc.

Good luck this
weekend!

Go Noles!

and can concur on many of those.

Food- Bella Bella was great. Andrew's downtown as well, lots of stuff around there right by the capitol. Andrews is similar to the Veranda but less fancy and tv's everywhere.

Someone mentioned Momos Pizza earlier, awesome. There's probably 50 beers on tap and you order pizza by the slice, which covers an entire one-foot diameter pan. Cheap too, think Strombolis with beer.

Bars- depends on what your looking for. If you're into the club scene there's Rok Bar, I hated it. I would reccommend Potbelly's (college bar on campus beats anything in Starkville) or Proof (tons of beer on tap, 2-story bar). They have a Wine Loft if you're looking for that scene (right beside Bella Bella) Tomahawks is a sports bar right off campus, good place to eat.

I know the strip where Bullwinkle's and others are was closed down for some pest problems recently not sure what that deal is now.

If you have some downtime and need something to do the Florida Capitol building has a top floor observation deck where you can look out over Tallahassee and even see the Gulf on a real clear day.

Another really good pizza place (my favorite) is Decent Pizza on Monroe Street right across from Masa and Midtown Pass. Bars on the strip all should be back open now. Good idea about visiting the capitol. </font>

How has no one mentioned Cabo's?
It's a local institution, It is in a strip mall, but is a cool place. Get the Tuna Tacos with Fries. Best fries in town.

Momo's is great, as is Decent Pizza on Monroe. Gordo's for Cuban. The Egg, Canopy Road and Mockingbird Cafe great for breakfast/brunch.

You all definately want to go out in Midtown, Finnegans and Taproom are great places to start.
A side note, I will be playing at Midtown Pass, right on Monroe in Midtown, hoping to get a bulldog party going there!

Fermentation Lounge near FSU has a great beer selection and cool vibe, feels like you are at a house party.

25mins out of town is Bradfordville Blues Club, which is quite an experience. The old lady cooking fish and sausage outside knows her stuff, good bands and a bonfire outside when band takes a break. Such a cool place.

<div>Former FSU grad student here:</div><div>
</div>Is Leon Pub (off North Monroe near the police station) still open? They had a pretty wide range of beers on tap... I never got through them all. Another couple of places off Tennessee were Poor Paul's Pourhouse (next to Bullwinkle's) and the Irish Pub (behind and underneath Ken's)... are they still around?<div>
</div><div>Of course, one place I used to love taking a day trip to was Posey's down in St. Mark's, but I heard it was condemned a few years ago. Sure can't understand why... I'll never forget eating out on the deck with some friends and seeing the world's largest nutria run across it with a fried oyster in its mouth.</div>

Yes,
Leon pub is still open and going strong, only drawback is the smoke in there, great location in midtown though.

Posey's has a great place now in Panacea on the water, about 40mins south of Tallahassee. $4.00 for a dozen raw oysters!!! Can't beat that!
St. Marks place is now called Riverside and is pretty good!
