are we close to popping?
It’ll pop if we get the right juice
Maybe Frost should shop for coaches at his local GNC or at Limitless Male in Omaha
OR he can source some Jack LaLanne VHS tapes for the new coaches to show their rooms

It sure doesn't seem like Trev was a heavy hand here and had a really uncomfortable conversation with Frost. I get the feel it is two guys that care passionately about what they are doing and want to accomplish and came up with some ways to change.

Frost actually looked somewhat relieved. Like when someone over his head has the boss come in and get him some help. IMHO the biggest addition by subtraction was getting rid of Verduzco. That guy seemed to have some kind of weird Svengali influence over Frost that life would be over if Adrian Martinez were pulled for a few series.

It's amazing to me he thinks the special teams are well-coached. We have 27 punt return yards for the entire season. Twenty seven! In ten games! Not feeling optimistic we'll improve that next year.

Hate on Frost all you want. The guy seemed genuine in the presser. I thought he should have been canned but didn’t mind the presser and thought it was a good look for him. You can see the Trev influence

He talked more about the coverage teams, and mentioned the actual specialists separate

I appreciate Coach Frost holding such a presser. I'm not sure a couple of our recent HC's would have bothered to meet for a presser like that, or if they did they would've come across as pissy.

Cleanly fielding a punt is a win

It's interesting, do you think he considers the returners specialists? We really haven't seen any competition for punt returner (compared to kicker) once Martin started calling fair catches back there. It just worries me that he's not concerned with the return game at all.

Do you think he is almost relieved now, knowing that next year is his last year unless he wins? There has to be some sense of relief in knowing what you need to do.

Years ago I did sales, just for the summer, a buddy got me the gig. While I was there a dude that was struggling to sell got put on a plan to help him. My friend told me "That is a managing out plan, basically the create these goals that are almost unreachable (talk time, calls, sales, blah blah blah) so if you make it, you are super happy because you are getting paid big dollars BUT, 99% of the dudes don't make it and basically know it is over"

The salesman busted his *** for like the first two weeks of the plan and then basically saw the writing on the wall and seemed. content to just show up, wait for the plan to be over and get canned.

Special teams is something that takes away from practicing offense. The only really bad thing with returns is if you can’t catch it. So if we can do that, let’s work on something else. Coverage lapses cause game changing shifts of momentum for the bad guys, so he has probably felt forced to think more about that.

No, I think he is relieved because sometime when you are on a ledge (and most of us have been there) it is comforting to have someone talk you off it. In his assistant coaching gigs there was a head coach holding his hand when needed. All he had here was Moos that wasn't around much and when he stopped by he said stuff like he expected 8 wins this year, then he'd go back to the ranch. I believe he appreciates the new AD working with him and helping him restructure so coaching can be fun again.

As far as the salesman analogy, I do not believe Trev wants to set the goals so high next year Frost is doomed to failure. I believe he wants Frost to win most of the games he should win and tossups, and maybe win one or two he shouldn't. I don't think that is too much to ask. At this point it is all I ask, which made the IL, MN and PU games so maddening and the MSI, MI and OSU games annoying.
