We will see about that. We are 3-7 on Frost 4th year, lip service aside.

Frost sucks! If they retain Frost, Nebraska's Administration deserves "Loss of Control" Sanctions.

It just keeps getting harder and harder to make the case to keep Frost another year.
Coaching decisions, game management, personnel management, play calling have been issues almost week in and week out for four straight years.

University execs rarely go on TV or radio at halftime of a close game and declare that their coach has failed miserably and has one foot out the door.

They competed well but alas after 4 years you have to be able to point to something other than the manner by which you lose as a reason to keep him

Can anyone point to any actual wins in 4 years that argue for a year 5?

Perhaps he was referring to Chinander? Because there is not a single metric in which you could claim that Frost is “great”

and OP, almost every time an athletic director puts out a statement of support blah blah blah stuff the end up firing the head coach. It's just the way things operate.

Frost doesn't seem to understand that when you are outmanned (such as today), you need to take some chances to earn an upset. You can't settle for field goal attempts when you need TDs. It is like he was more concerned with keeping it close/beating the spread vs taking chances and possibly winning.

IMO, he needs to go.

I ‘m proud of the way the D kept us in the game. They looked strong all 4 qtrs. Another game we had a chance to win.
if AM is the best we’ve got, we’ll, alas another moral victor. .

I have been hard on Frost. I have repeatedly called for his firing. And I still lean that way. But damn it, the team played well today. We still stink on special teams which really cost us this game, leaving 6 points on the field. The game would have been tied in the 4th had we made those which changes the dynamic. Our biggest weakness though are our two offensive tackles. If he had two good tackles we would have won today. Martinez is inconsistent, but if you give him time he is pretty good. Hard to judge him when he is running for his life on every damn pass play.

But there is one other thing that makes me doubt Frost. Play calling. On that long drive at the end of the third Martinez was tearing OSU a new one and the option play worked great. OSU clearly had no answer for it. So why in the freaking hell did we not do that from the get-go? One of our best weapons is Martinez in the open field running. Yet we had hardly any of it early.

All in all our guys played their hearts out and I am proud as hell of them. They have clearly not given up. I thought we would get killed today. I was wrong. Very wrong. Kudos to the whole team. OSU is really good and we just put them to the edge.

Keeping Frost may turn out to be the best move if they continue to play like they did today. If we improve our special teams and the offensive line we actually have some good elements in place. My biggest concern is recruiting. And we need to hit the transfer portal for a QB.

If you listen to it in context he wasn't asked or pushed into saying anything about Coach Frost he came out and said that we have a great coach

Frost is done. Another game of poorly coached offense. I feel bad for the defensive coaches who have done everything they can do to make up for Frosts lack of offense. Year 4 ...3-7... about to be 3-9 no bowl. He’s done...

Yes but he didn't have to go out of his way to praise Frost either. Give it a rest. Unless we get blown out in our last games I can see Frost being retained. And if he is, then we need to support him 100%
Give it a rest!??? Serious? Year 4 and we are 3-7 no bowl?? Keep him? BS... he was a winner as a player, but a loser as a coach. Numbers don’t lie... and this is a numbers business...

Heard it from a few players parents that he will be given another year with a new offensive staff take it for what it's worth maybe they don't even know.

and if he gets fired after going 3-9 since this team is not going to beat WI, you going to show up in the firing thread so I can make fun of you?

link? I'm serious.. otherwise this is just rumors started by you
I heard it. His tone and words did come off as someone who wanted to keep Frost. But I’m not going to read too much into it. Might just be overcompensating for the gloomy outlook he provided earlier in the week.

What would you expect him to say? Everybody’s coach is doing a great job and has his employer’s utmost confidence, right up to the day they are canned.
