Dr. Tom. Very calm, understated demeanor. Strong Christian. Relentless in his work ethic and competiveness but more concerned about the pursuit of perfection knowing that wins and championships will be the byproduct. Challenges his players to be the best they can be while treating them with the utmost respect. Tough as nails.

I think we got a good one and I'm more confident that this thing will get turned around then I've been in 15 years.

Nother sneaky fiery redhead. I expect him to be more animated than Dr Tom on the sideline.

Likely, but I think TO was quite a bit more firey on the sidelines in his younger years.

Look at his reaction in the 78 OU game when the refs called the runner down on the Tom Ruud hit.

Not really all that different IMO I've seen a little video of Frost getting after a ref with the veins popping out on his neck and TO was a lot more subtle with his sparring. I remember some audio of Tom working a ref and it was pretty funny. Gol-ding it Dave. You're killing us. That was pass interference. Cmon. Or something to that effect. He was an intimidating figure without having to scream and spew profanity.

He's not a redhead.
You ever seen his face when he's pissed? About as red as it gets.Winking Actually I tried to insert a pic of him which shows that his hair when it isn't sun bleached out has a pretty good red tint to it but couldn't get it to copy.

If you want to see Frost in action on the sidelines, check out the video of the Lagarrette Blount incident (it's on-line, utube). Boise beat Oregon, and at the end of the game, Blount sucker punched a Boise player. He started backing away after throwing the punch. An Oregon assistant coach wrapped him up and physically removed him from the field. Blount was a pretty big dude (now an NFL running back). Frost put him in a bear-hug and removed him from the field.

I saw that live. He walked up behind him, wrapped his arms around him and lifted him up like a sack of groceries and carried him off the field. Pretty impressive. I think Blount was about 235 then.

Was watching that game on tv, if I remember correctly stopped Blount from going in the stands after Boise fans.

Kelly Phelps, I believe. I was at the game and the ball flew up in he air as soon as he hit him. But he was actually down. Not.

Very good comparison and Frost does have a very similar demeanor to TO in that he has a calm, quiet confidence about him that rubs off on his players.
