Funny, you can say a team, your team will go undefeated, people will get behind that, even if its unlikely, being fans,we'd love to see it.
But, when you hear, 'its all excuses, another x amount of years of excuses' and then you double down on that? For some reason, crickets, the naysayers dont get behind that for some reason, unrealistic as THAT is.

People love to b1tch,theres the proof.

That's what fans do is *****. There's a reasonable amount of bitching and an unreasonable amount. Alabama fans expect to win a championship every year and when they don't, they ***** like there's no tomorrow. That's unreasonable. When your team has had 3 losing seasons in a row, plays like crap, and the coaching and player performance hasn't been up to par, I think there's a little more reason to ***** in that situation.

I hope so. We, as fans deserve it. The "rebuild" recruiting pitch won't work for most players next cycle, they need to see results on the field. l am trying to be optimistic about the two additions to the staff. I am more impressed that SF made the moves. I feel better about him this offseason. I think he knows we have been very patient the last two years. NOW is the time to put a good competitive team on the field. I don't expect a West title but at the very least we should beat either Hawkey or that toothy gopher. 7-5 is my "prediction" but my expectation (there is a difference) is 8-4.
This kind of makes me chuckle a bit... reading this board I haven’t seen a lot of patience from the downers... tons of bitching and complaining. You can claim we’ve been patient all you want but in reality, we had no choice but to be patient. Frost has the time to fix this, and our lack of patience doesn’t matter one bit.

You can claim that we as fans have been patient, but what other choice do we have?

Within reason,agree.
When recruiting is ignored, available talent is ignored, when player fit is ignored, and called excuses, thats just ignorant b1tching, not deserved nor constructive.

We'll see. Everything looks like the right moves at the moment. But we won't actually know for sure until we see results on the damn FIELD! PERIOD!!!
Yes, the coaching changes although welcomed by many, contradicts the often lauded concept of continuity. Culture entrenching is somewhat dependent upon continuity.

that said, I think the staff moved will be positive, but Time will tell

Continuity for continuity's sake isn't going to accomplish anything. Heck it could even end up hurting culture if we allow coaches to stay on staff who may not be totally committed. Continuity is great if you have a great coaching staff and they work well together and the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. And I think that was a pretty good description of this staff at UCF. For whatever reason though, that didn't seem to carry over to Nebraska and changes needed to be and were made.

Switching out a dc is one thing, switching out a scheme is another. New terminology, new resposibilities etc.
Switching out a HC even worse,or greater impact.
But, if it's relatively the same schemes, you can even switch HCs like at wiscy, with BA there.

Continuity doesnt pay off right away until almost a whole class goes through it, where you have older players teaching younger players the ropes.
I agree with you, and am skeptical when fans belittle such important things, like maybe they think its nothing but excuses, when it shows ignorance on their part actually.
Nice post

I agree switching out a head coach is a worst case scenario. You don't want to do that unless it's necessary. I think assistant coaches are a lot more expendable. No you don't want to be switching out your entire assistant staff every year, but I don't think 2 or 3 changes a year will have much negative impact, if at all.

For skeptics, just wait until the Spring Game. You will see a much different team from the past three years. Much bigger, stronger and faster and the coaches will be a well-oiled machine. This has been the off-season of all off-seasons!!
bigger glass of Kool-Aid please !!!
